Dining Room

OK Mom, I haven't forgotten about your request to
post the rooms, it's just that it's hard to take a picture that captures the feel of the room. This is our dining room. When you first walk in the door there is a wood entry way that you can see a little bit of, then the dining room is immediately on the left. Ron textures the walls which you can't really see on the picture. We plan on pulling out the rug and putting in a wood floor, and of course replacing that ugly light. We still have several little projects like this throughout the house...

Ronnie

You can usually find Ron here in our living room catching up on work reports. In fact, he may be there right now!! I thought I'd make him one of my famouse cappucino's to help him along....

Swing....

Boy, we have had a busy week. Yesterday we went to Cara's so Lincoln and the twins could play.

We went to the "spray park" for them to run around in the water, then we played there on the playground: this is a pic of both boys on the swings. Do you know how hard it is to get a good picture of 2 kids swinging???

Last night, Ron and I dropped the boys off at my friend, Darla's, then we went to The Stockyards in Fort Worth and ate at H3 which is a good steak house. This was a dinner with all the corportate and owners of Ron's company. We had a great steak dinner. The Stockyards were neat: an area that looks like an old fashioned "wild west" texas town... Great place to take you all when you visit!! Everyone in the company sure had wonderful things to say about Ron's performance....

Lawson loves to sit in the rocking chair. This rocking chair was my mom's while she was growing up. Lincoln and Lawson both love to sit in it!!

Sweet Potatoe's

OK Ron, how did he get sweet potatoe's ALL over his face??? I think this is the messiest he has been during dinner, so far....

Dresser

Lincoln on top of his dresser going through his CD's trying to decide which one to play next. The red car is his new radio....

ZZZZZZZZZZ

My little brother, and his little girl, Bristol taking a nap. She's three months..... He is such a good Daddy!!

Welcome Back

Welcome Back Ron!! We missed you.
Ron was in Corpus Christie for a work coference. He had a very long day, and just returned home tonight at 10:45pm. Of course, Lincoln was up in his room waiting for him..... Ron brought him home a toy airplane and Lincoln cuddled up to it and fell asleep. Ron got to eat at the original Waterstreet Oyster Bar while he was there. That sounded so good to me when he said that, I had Cheerio's for dinner!!!
Anyway, we are glad Daddy is home safe...
It actually RAINED today. The one day Ron wasn't here, so he didn't see it. I don't think he believes me, but it really did rain. It was so nice!!! Lawson didn't know what to think about it, it was his 1st time to see rain......
Off to bed.....

What's up??

What's up?? Get it??

Lawson

One of Lawson's favorite places to be is right here pulled up to Lincoln's bed.

His vibrating teether has been a big hit lately, he is amazed at how when he bites down it starts to vibrate. I'm sure it feels good on those gums!!

Books

Lincoln just loves, loves, loves books. He always has. We have to regularly go the library to get more books
So far, Lawson has not been interested whatsoever in books except to bang together or chew on. At that age, Lincoln already would sit forever and listen to stories. Maybe Lawson just isn't ready yet, he has other things he would rather do, he's not much of a "lap" baby. He likes to get down and explore.
While I was at the library I checked out this book. Healthy and Quick? I'll give it a try....

Work

Lincoln was able to ride in Ron's new car today, and go to work with him for a little while. Of course, Lincoln thought that this was the coolest thing in the world to do. On the way home, they went to "Wendy's House" for lunch (Wendy's). And so of course tonights prayer was:
Thank You Jesus for Mommy, Daddy, Mommy, Daddy, Mommy, Daddy, and Wendy's house.

Somehow today I threw my back out. If it's worse in the morning, I may go see a chiropractor. I've never done that before, but I don't know how I can do much with this backache.... I'll keep you updated.

reaah

Reaah, Ron responded to some of your comments, so go back and read them.....

Mommy G

Mommy G with two of her favorite three boys.

BTW, Lincoln is asking for a baby sister...

Random Information

1. Ron tremendously enjoyed his experience at the mens retreat. He is already looking forward to the Mens Winter Retreat!! When we went to church today, he ran into some of the friends he made so that was nice. We will be joining a "small group" at the church and I think we may join one with someone Ron knows. We made it to the 9:00 service this morning, so that gave us a longer day than when we don't go until 10:30...
2. Ron will be getting his complete physical/follow-up for the issue's he had in NY. The appointment is on Wednesday.
3. I saved 71.00 today with the grocery game!! Yeah!! (Of course I did spend 155.00).
4. Hi LA-LA, one of my regular readers: Lincoln has been enjoying talking to you on the phone.
5. Ron may be going to China in October. His company is looking at doing some buisness in Beijing. (We better not move to China now!!). His major is in International Business, so he is looking forward to utilizing those skills if he goes.
6. Ron will be at work conference tomorrow, Monday, in Corpus Christie at the Omni.
7. On Wednesday night, Ron and I will be going to a dinner with his corporate people. It will be my 1st time to meet any of them..... The boys will stay with my friend, Darla, Lincoln can't stop talking about it.
8. MOPS leadership meeting for me tomorrow.
9. Hope everyone has a GREAT week...

Cute

Cute things the boys did today
1. Lawson has been making this really cute squeaking sound, I love it.
2. Lawson crawled over to me (I was lying on the floor) and put his pacifier in my mouth. He giggled, and kept doing it. Later when I was giving him his bottle, he tried to put his bottle in my mouth.
3. When Lincoln asks Ron "why" about something, sometimes Rons says "I said so". So, for the past few days, every time you ask Lincoln "why" about something he says "I said so". Like for example, "why aren't you going to bed", "because I said so".
4. Sometimes when Lincoln asks Ron to help him or to have something, like a dog, Ron replies "when you are a little older". So now that is his response when you ask him things like "can you help mommy clean up", "when I'm a little older'.
5. We went to dinner tonight at an Italian restaurant. Lincoln kept saying he didn't want to be there, he wanted to be at chuck e cheese. He practically begged us to go, so after dinner we were able to go and play some games. He got into a conga line with Chuck E Cheese, and was doing a train with a bunch of other (older) kids throughout the restaurant, it was pretty amuzing. Chuck E is right up there on Lincoln's list with the Wiggles and Elmo!!

Tonights Prayer from Lincoln

Thank You Jesus for Daddy safe, Mommy, Lawsy, chuck e cheese, and marshmallows. Amen.

More Wiggles Shots

More Wiggle's shots. See the small mylar balloons behind me and Lincoln? Can you believe they were selling those for 10.00 a piece!! That is so wrong, you know all the kids wanted one....I just couldn't bring myself to pay 10.00!!
Click on the other pic to get a larger view. You will see Lincoln and Emily all the way up to the VERY front. We had really, really good seats.
I enjoyed myself as well, It was nice to spend time with Lincoln alone. He probably need's that every once in awhile!!

Sunday Six

By Lincoln, age 2.5
Lawson is already sleeping

1. What does it mean to forget?
Sounds good.

2. What does it mean to be late?
When it's late, it's night night time.

3. Why do people forget things?
Lollipops

4. Why are people late sometimes?
Late because they go night night.

5. Who is usually late, Mommy or Daddy?
Mommy, she takes a nap (I am NEVER late!!)

6. Did you forget something?
Ron thinks he said "french fries"
To me it sounded like "dead flies"

Tonights Prayer

Tonights Prayer from Lincoln (I had to laugh)
Thank You Jesus for daddy, mommy, and please help me to not bite Lawson so mommy doesn't take my radio away again....

Old Friends

Fortunitely, I have several old friends who live in the Dallas area. These are friends from college, and we were in AOII together. Recently, we had a little "dallas aoii" reunion while Shana was in for a visit. We had a swim party at Darla's, and here are all the kids. From left that is Ashley (darla's 13 yr old), holding Lawson, in back Madison (Shana's daughter), then left front Lincoln, Emily (Darla's 3 yr old), Hannah and Ben (Debbie Tucker's (Taylor)), then Madie in Ryan in back (Cara's twins). Anyway, it has been so nice to have old friends here. These are friends I have had since around 1990.... So, we go way back!!

Friday

TGIF!! Sorry about not having a post for you upon your return home, but Blogger has been down all day. It's been a great day. We started out bright and early at 7:30am to hit a multifamily garage sale through my MOMS club. Got the boys lots of new toys, puszszles, CD's, etc... Probably a couple of hundred dollars worth for 19.00. I love to find great deals!! Then mommy was able to take an hour break for a lunch with friend, Darla, while the kids played next door at Adventure Kids. Meanwhile, Ron was out purchasing yet another new car!! He got a very nice white Volvo with a sunroof, leather interior, etc... He is going to enjoy it a lot more, he never really liked his previous car. Tonight, Ron is at Men's Retreat for our church. It is at Del Tosoro Resort, in Fort Worth. He will spend the night, and return tomorrow. I'm hoping he really gets to "retreat" and relax for awhile. He needs it!! Will let you know it goes.....

The Clay Bowl

Here is an action shot, Sue. Lincoln (Emily) making the clay bowl shown in the past. This was an art booth set up at the end of the summer pool party at our gym. You can see he was really concentrating on his project....

Wiggles!!

OK Sue, This is definitely action for you. This is Lincoln dancing with buddy, Emily, at The Wiggles concert. So. Much. Fun.

Action Shots

OK, Sue wanted some action shots!! Tried to take some at gymnastics today. They turned out horrible because I took them from the other side of the glass window, and zoomed: I'll get better ones next time!! But, here are a few of the bad shots!!

Going Somewhere Bristol??

My neice, Bristol. It's hard for me not to see her growing up, but am looking forward to seeing her real soon. Her and Lawson are only a couple of months apart, so they are going to be able to grow up being "buddies"......

Thank You Jesus

Tonights prayer:
Thank You Jesus for Daddy, Mommy's cleaning, Daddy safe, fan, Lawson's new teeth, and my flashlight.
Amen (Lincoln)

On another note, the other night we were all playing in Lincoln's room: Daddy, Mommy, Lincoln, and Lawson. We were just all playing and listening to some children's music. Lincoln stopped what he was doing, looked around and said "Look, we are a family!!". It was so sweet, it's like he just totallly got it all of a sudden....

Also, Lawson tries to put everything in his mouth, so I'm constantly prying open his mouth with my fingers trying to get out something, usually paper or something. Now, when Lincoln see's Lawson put something in his mouth, he reaches in and get's it. Yesterday he reached in Lawson's mouth and squealed with excitement "Lawson has a tooth in there!!". Lincoln was not expecting this and was talking about Lawson's new tooth for the rest of the day (hence the prayer).....

Lawson's Swing

Lawson finally has his very own swing. The swing is attached to the same tree in the front yard that Lincoln's swing is on that Ron made for him (big boy swing). After dinner every night, our tradition is to go out front and swing the boys. Both of the boys have always loved to swing. Lawson was so fussy tonight due to teething, but he was as content as can be for 45 minutes in this swing!!

Flashback Again

Lincoln getting into trouble exactly 2 years ago today.... He is Lawson's current age. There are some similarities..... Especially the getting into everything part!!

Tree's

Took the boys to a nearby park this morning, before it was too unbearably hot. While we were there, Lincoln was able to learn a new use for a tree (twice)!!

Results!!

That HAS to be a picture of Lincoln playing with his favorite Aunt Jen!!! J/K. My guess is that it is a picture of Justice playing in the plants/flowers. I hope I win...I could use another million dollars!

LaLa says it is the scary looking big fish from 'Finding Nemo'. She found all the fins and even the little dangly thing in front of its face. Auntie Sue-Sue thinks it is the IHOP where he and Daddy ate breakfast the other day.

Aunt Ray Ray 'Tha Schola' said...
Honestly at first glance it looks like a fish with a purple eye and a yellow top fin and tail. It also looks to have a green right fin and a yellow left fin. In the book 'Depiction of childhood drawings'...it says that children reflect the environment in which the animal that they are thinking of is surrounded by. Although this to me appears to be a fish....it may meen that water surrounds this particular animal or it is of main interest to it. It is defianetly well rounded and takes up a large portion of the page. I think that it is a rather large animal.
8:14 PM "

The answer is: A RHINO!!!!
So, Reaah's answer of a rather large animal is the winner!!! Cograts to Reaah who wins the million dollars!!

Molars

Lincoln is getting his last two top (2 year old) molars. He had a very hard time with his bottom 2 coming in, apparantly it's pretty tough.... Let's just say he was using Lawson's finger as a teether (resulting in the radio being taken away)!!!! I think he learned his lesson, and got his radio back today.....
2 teething kiddo's, it's going to be a fun day!!!

Tuesday, August 22

Radio

Lincoln is in trouble, big trouble. I took his radio out of his room for the REST of the day, which for him is a big punishment: he always has to be listening to his music while he is in his room. I won't tattle on him and tell you what he did, but remember that I don't get mad very easily!

Boys Rooms

These are the color schemes in the boys rooms. For Lincoln the top is beige and the bottom red with the farm scence border and white chair rail. This is the match the "barn bed" that Ron made him. Lawson has a beige top with light blue bottom, with a jungle animal border for his theme... More to come....

Request

Great request on pics of the house. As I get time I'll take you to each room.... Here is the front of our house. Excuse the grass (or lack of) situation. We are going to lay down new sod once it starts to rain again. Apparantly there was beautiful grass here, but the previous owner killed it all and wanted to start over, but it was too hot to grow.... Anyway, here it is, our home....

Justice

Yes, we still have our kitty, Justice. I have had her for 5 years now, she is such a good kitty. She now lives 100% outside. She likes the freedom of roaming, and there are a lot of birds for her to chase. She has 2 other kitty friends that come visit, they are other neighbors outside cats. She is doing well, and looks forward to us coming outside to play with her. Lincoln and her really get along well, and today Lawson pulled her tail!

Welcome Kalina

One of my bestest friends, Gabby had her baby this morning. Her name is Kalina, she was born at 7:50am by C-section. She weighed 6lbs 14oz. Mommy and Baby are doing well. Congrats to the family and big brother Anesten!!

Flashback

This is our messy Lincoln exactly one year ago today. Hasn't he grown up a lot?? One year ago, I was 3 months pregnant with Lawson. Boy, I really had a rough pregnancy, yuck!!!

Clean Dirt

Who knew that you could buy clean dirt??

Comments

1. OK, I took off the comment moderation b/c it was time consuming. So, if I do get any SPAM and you see it before I erase don't be offended.
2. If you click on a picture, you can enlarge it to see it better.
3. You can also save the pictures I post. Just right click on the picture and save it to one of your files.
4. This has been so fun for me. Even Ron gets updated on what we are doing while he is at work.
5. Let me know if anyone has a blog of thier own, or someone that I know....
6. Let me know of any idea's you have of entries.... maybe something you'd like to know or see a picture of.....

Entertainment

Today was one of those days where the boys could pretty much entertain themselves and or each other. I got so much housework done today (4 loads of laundry, mop floors, vaccuum all rooms, dust, scrub both RR's, cook nice dinner, bake more cookies, etc...etc....). And I kept thinking to myself, I've finally reached that stage where the boys can play together. Each day, they learn more about each other and it is amazing to watch them interact.

Times Running Out

For any more guessing on Lincoln's artwork. We have some GREAT answers. Reaah, you're too funny!! Tom and Courtney I'm waiting for your guess.....

Update on Ron's "Small Project"

Ron worked hard all weekend, it was only 107 degree's outside. But he got the siding on, and was working on the roof. It's really coming along, we can't wait until it is done. Ron's goal is to have it completed by the time family comes in September.

Advise

Advise I wish I had gotten: Do not buy 4 oz bottles. Waste of Space. OK, so you buy a whole bunch of 4 oz bottles. But then, your baby starts drinking 6-8 ounces. So, you have to get rid of all your 4 oz bottles and buy all new 8oz bottles. And the bottles I like cost 5.00 a piece..... So, I was wondering why didn't I just buy the 8 oz bottles in the first place and then only fill them up 4oz, that would have made much more sense. So, I packed up all my 20 or so 4 ounce bottles to store in the attic. Then I came up with a good idea. I filled them up with odds and ends like rice, pasta, blocks, etc... and Lawson loves to shake these, roll them, chew on them, they are great!!!

Thank You Jesus

Lincoln's good night prayer tonight:
Thank You Jesus for Daddy, ice water, Franklin (stuffed turtle), House, and toothpaste.

Grissmore Farm

On our recent trip to upstate NY, Ron and Nanny were able to take the boys to Grismore Farms to pick fresh blueberries. This is a place where Ron grew up going to pick fresh fruit. Meanwhile, Auntie Ray Ray and I enjoyed a morning at a beautiful spa getting facials!!!

Sunday, August 20

Groceries

As some of you know, I have an addiction to the "grocery game". Went shopping today for the week, and I saved a total of 49.00. That's good, but on a really good week I save around 70.00. This extra money sure comes in handy with all the diapers, formula, baby food, etc.... Anyone interested in joining the grocery game, get with me and I'll give you the info (you san antonians can't do it b/c you only have HEB and I do it at Kroger)....

Dedication

Babies are a gift from God.
Ron and I will be dedicating baby Lawson at our church on September 17th at 10:30am.

Smoothie

Every day for the past 3 weeks I have made a fruit/yogurt smoothie for lunch. I love this newly found treat because it is nutricious, delicious, inexpensive, easy, quick..... Not to mention I am able to drink it much easier than sitting down eating somthing for lunch when I am juggling feeding 2 others. I tried out several different recipes, but stick to the basics and change out the flavors. Thought I'd share what I use in case you want to try it, wish I had tried this sooner!!
In a blender I add:
1 whole bannana
1 whole carton of yogurt (switch out flavors: vanilla, strawberry, blueberry)
Milk (to a good texture to drink)
4-5 ice cubes
Blend, and you have to drink with a straw!!

Of course if have any fresh strawberries, blueberries, etc... I throw those in the blender. This takes me about 2-3 minutes to make and it much healthier than the alternative lunch I would be having!!

Knock Knock

Lincoln knows what Knock Knock jokes are because at the beginning of his library time the librarian tells them with a puppet.
Last night and today Lincoln started to tell us his own versions of knock knock jokes. They don't make much sencse but he has the idea!!

Linc: Knock Knock
Mommy: Who's there?
Linc: Soap
Mommy: Soap who?
Lincoln Soap to wash your hands!!

Linc: Knock Knock
Mommy: Who's there?
Linc: Under
Mommy: Under who?
Linc: Underpants

Linc: Knock Knock
Mommy: Who's there?
Linc: Daddy
Mom: Daddy Who?
Linc: Daddy Geri

Linc: Knock Knock
Mommy: Who's there?
Linc: Owl
Mom: Owl who?
Linc: Owl knock knock jokes!!

Payback

OK this is my payback for the 3 1/2 hour nap Lincoln took earlier. He is still up. It's 10:00. He is in his room in his bed. But he doesn't even appear to be anywhat tired!! So, I'm here in the study listening in on him, and giving you guys something to read the next time you check the blog!!

Schedule

Summer is wrapping up for us, and we are on to our new "fall schedule". I like to have something planned for every morning of the week, then we come home for lunch, nap, and activities at home until dinner. Here is what our fall schedule will look like:

Monday:
MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers). I will be a discussion group leader this year. This meets at our church.
The boys will go to Moppetts where they do christian related activities and crafts. Lincoln loves it.

Tuesday:
Lawson's story/music time at the local library

Wednesday:
Bible Study: 30 week bible study on Revelations (with Darla)
Boys go into a child bible study
Wednesday night: Awana's at our church (where the kids play games, learn songs, etc... as they are encouraged to memorize some scriptures). Lincoln will be in an Awana class and I'm going to be a volunteer....

Thursday:
Lincoln's Gymnastics
Lincoln's Story Time at the local library

Friday:
Playgroup (with Cara and twins)

Pretty Good

Not my favorite, but pretty good.

Lifetime Fitness

We love our gym, Lifetime Fitness. It is less than a mile from our house, and we spend a lot of time there. Today, I was able to work out while the boys played in the child center. Then Ron met us up there after working on his project and we took the boys out to the outdoor pool for a swim. The place is amazing. What a great childcare center. In fact, Lincoln begs me to go the "the gym" because he loves it so much. That motivates me to get up there sometimes because I know he gets something out of it, they get them to exercise. You can see where we workout by clicking on this: www.lifetimefitness.com
After Lincoln's walk to IHOP this morning, then playing at the gym in the childcare for 2 hours, then swimming at the outdoor pool for almost 2 hours, we totally wore him out. Lincoln and Lawson both took a 3 1/2 hour nap this afternoon, which also allowed Ron and I to take a long nap. What a great day!!! I needed that!! After we all napped we went out to dinner at a new place here in Flower Mound called Red Hot and Blue, it's a memphis BBQ place. We really liked it and will be back. Then we went to Culvers to get an ice cream treat which we do EVERY Saturday. Yum Yum
PS: New addition to Linctionary
ice freeme: ice cream

Game #2

What is this??

Painted recently by our very own Lincoln. Guess what this is, according to Lincoln.

Reaah, I loved your last answer (a little late, though) so make sure you play this time!!

We will announce the results in a few days.... Good Luck!!

E L M O

Elmo has yet another fan to add to his ever growing list. Lawson already loves Elmo. He has never watched Elmo on TV yet, but he just is very attracted to all of Lincoln's Elmo's toys. All his favorite toys in Lincoln's room are the Elmo ones. When he see's an Elmo anywhere out of the corner of eye it just stops him in his tracks like he has seen someone he knows and just smiles at Elmo. As most of you know, Lincoln has always loved Elmo, so I guess it runs in the family. What is it about this furry red creature that is so captivating to the young eye???

Misha

These are Misha's girls. Misha is Ron's best bud who lives back in upstate NY. Some of you remember him as the best man in our wedding. He has 2 adorable girls, Molly and Mandy. We were able to spend a day with them on our trip back last month. Lincoln loved playing with them, too bad we live so far away!!

IHOP

From our home, you can get on some walking trails that lead you to many different things (parks, school, business, etc...). First thing this morning, Ron took Lincoln on the trails to go to IHOP for pancakes. It was a pretty long walk, and Lincoln came back with blisters on his feet. But, he kept going on and on about the story about the walk and the pancakes, he was so excited. He's never walked to a restaurant before, and he liked that. I told Ron they need to make this a tradition to do every once in awhile and soon Lawson can join them and let mommy stay home and catch up on her housework!! (a mothers work is never done)

Comments

I had to start "moderating" my comments. Meaning they have to come through me for approval before they are posted. This is because I got my 1st SPAM on a comment and it wasn't very nice!! So, you may not see your comments pop up right away like you used to, but it won't take long!!

Thanks Aunti Ray Ray for all your feedback!!! Keep posted....

Another 1st

Lwson has been clapping today for the 1st time!!

And the Winner is.....

Aunt Jen!!
Boy you guys are good. Next time I'll have to make it a little bit more challenging. Jen must have even made one of these before because she even knew the exact steps!! It is a clay "kids bowl" that Lincoln made recently. 1st he put clay in a ball and pounded it down for the base. Then he rolled clay in "snakelike" sections and stacked them on top of each other. The worker told him what to do, but he did it all by himself. I thought it was great for a 2 year old!! Jen wins the million dollars, don't you wish you would have played?????

Thursday, August 17

Boys....

Random

1. Forgot an important word to the Linctionary
noomy: movie
2. Any more guesses on my game before the revealing????
3. Ok, I'm desperate and will try the cabbage leaves. If you don't know what I'm talking about it's better that way.
4. Tomorrow Trying out playgroup #5 since we moved here. We'll see if this is a good match. It's a friend of mine's playgroup (Cara and twins). The con is the distance to Keller, but worth the drive if we enjoy it. It seems very organized, and I LOVE organized playgroups!! I"ll let you know how it goes....
5. Lincoln has started to wake up and tell us about his dreams. Today he told me about the big bear on his bed and it had big blue eyes, and it was scary, he went on and on. He said he wanted to tell daddy when he got home, and that was the 1st thing he did.
6. Finished the last church class, and now we are official members (exccept for me having to be baptized)
7. Friend Laura C got engaged!! Congrats!!
8. Friend Cara will be having a baby girl in Dec.

He even wants to wear his underpants to bed and wakes up dry, I'm so proud of him!!

No Me Gusto

At Aunt Jen's request, of course I took a pic!! This is Lawson trying his cottage cheese that my baby food book said I can feed him at 7 months....

OK 1 more and I'll stop with the pics....

How cute is this??? I'm such a proud mommy, I hope I don't get on anyone's nerves with all the bragging that I do!!

Cowboy Cookies

I thought it would be okay to eat 4 cowboy cookies for breakfast. I thought the oatmeal and raisons in them would be healthy!! Jen wanted the recipe, so just in case anyone else wants to try to make our favorites...

Cowboy Cookies
Makes 6 dozen (can freeze some of the batter to bake up later!!)

Nonstick cooking spray
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temp
¾ cup dark brown sugar

Humpday Update

Here are my thoughts for the day:
1. Are Aunt Jen and Grammy the only one's who read this? They are the only one's who have posted a comment, besides one from Ray Ray and one from Richard and Shirley.
2. I don't know who Richard and Shirley are.
3. Lincoln had his last Kindermusic class today, it was a success.
4. Lawson tried egg yolks and cottage cheese, the book said he can have these things now: they were the 1st 2 things that he has tried and hated!! What a face!!
5. We will be attending a class tonight at the church: you have to attend a series of 3 classes in order to become a member so tonight we will be official members.
6. I was asked to be a MOPS discussion group leader this year, and I accepted. Looking forward to MOPS starting up again in September.
7. It is 105 degree's outside today, WOW!!!
8. I recieved the CD in the mail today with the boys professional pics on it. Family: I will be sending some to you, they are so cute!!
9. Hope everyone has a great rest of the week!!

Pacifier

To all of you ANTI pacifiers out there. Reasons why I like the pacifier.
1. Now that Lawson is picking up every single thing he see's on the ground and thinks it is a snack, when I put in his paci he doesn't put ANYTHING in his mouth (thank you paci)
2. Now that Lawson is teething, he always has a teether on hand. He chews on the paci and get instant (relief).
3. Now that Lawson is pulling up on everything, if the paci is in his mouth it serves as a "mouth guard" and has saved him from multiple busted lips. (thank you paci)
4. Not too mention it ALWAYS stops him from crying when he is hungry or tired.

Let's hear it for the Pacifier!!

My big boy

Lincoln has been such a good big boy. We are so amazed at how much he looks and acts like a big boy now. This is also a very fun age, it's fun to see him learn so many new things and it's fun to have a conversation with him. Most of you have heard him, but he knows his ABC's, numbers to 14, and most of the days of the week. He is doing really well lately with singing complete songs. One thing that he does that amazes me is work on the computer. We let him go to noggin.com and playhousedisney and sesame street. They teach them lessons, etc... and he can actually do almost all the activities. He can control the mouse, drag and drop, close out of programs, he knows how to "escape", volume, etc..... I didn't expect for a 2 1/2 to already to "surfing the net". OK they are officially asleep now, I can take a quick rest myself. Taco salad for dinner tonight.......

LAWSON

Lawson waved for the 1st time today for our photographer, I thought it was just a fluke. That night I was telling Ron about it at the dinner table and Lawson looks right at me with a HUGE smile and waves at me, for real real.... So now when we or anyone in public waves to him he waves right back, it is too cute!!!
Lawson also got tooth #2 this morning. I figured that was the explanation to his tough day yesterday. He isn't himself today, so hopefully by tomorrow it won't be bothering him anymore. Lincoln had a make up Kindermusic class today, loved it. Then we met up with some friends for lunch.... Now it's naptime...
Lawson has been saying "da da" all day long for 2 days and Lincoln is constantly telling him "daddy's not home Lawsy, he is at work".

Grandpa Lucek

Happy Birthday to Grandpa Lucek (my Dad), your card is on the way!!
