Next Year It Will Be Kindergarten!!!

Not "the baby" anymore! Lawson started his twice a week Pre-Kinder program. He was very anxious to start, especially b/c Lincoln went back to school last week. He has been asking all summer when he was going back. He is excited about his teacher, and he has 4 friends in his class!

Baby L

Growing up too fast!
I told Ron how my face has been hurting from smiling so much during the day! Not a bad problem to have, huh? I almost forgot how joyful it was having a baby around! Loving every minute of it, since I know how fast it goes.

Our Plate

Looking forward to the Fall, and all the experiences it promises to bring. This is what our plate looks like:

Me:
Discussion Group Leader for Open Arms (formerly MOPS)
Soul Sisters Bible Study (studying Jonah)

Lincoln:

Year round swim (practicing for next summer's swim team!)
1st Grade (he is involved in Circle of Friends as a mentor for the special ed students)
Working on writing a "book" to be published by the school's publishing company.

Lawson:
Soccer! He has been waiting for the day he is old enough to play on a team! (GLASA)
Awana (Cubbies)
Bible study at church with me
Pre-K 2 days a week
Year round swim (he wants to be on swim team next summer)
Gymnastics: He goes to a "drop off" class for 3 hrs. this gives Mommy some time for housework!

Does it sound like a lot? It's actually a perfect schedule for me, I'm loving it and loving juggling motherhood life.

My Three Sons!!!

Here's a few more from the photo shoot.

Another crazy hat picture!
I like this one, because I was tickling him to make him smile. My hands ended up being in the picture on accident, but I love that.... and I love seeing my ring!!!

My Favorite 4 (and a half, mom!) year old!!!
Seems like so recent ago he was the little baby!

And my toothless 1st grader!!!

First Day of First Grade

I hate that I have to wait until 3:15 to find out how Lincoln's day was. I'm wishing I could just text him and ask him!
I'm in shock that he is starting 1st, because it seems so recent that it was his 1st day of kinder. I guess this is how it goes when you have kid's in school: time just flies by.
Lincoln was SO excited about starting school. He got the teacher that he wanted, but none of his "boy" classmates from last year are in his class... He has 3 "girls" from kindergarten. At meet the teacher day, the 1st thing he asked after looking around the classroom was "Mom, where do they keep all the toys?". 1st graders don't play with toys anymore!
We are excited about his teacher. She has been teaching 1st grade for 22 years, so she knows what she is doing! She is a Grandma, and is probably about my mom's age. She lives on a "ranch" on Lake Grapevine and has horses. She said that before her day starts at school, she has already had a full day of riding and taking care of her horses. Our 1st impression of her is a bit "stern/strict" with her students so this is probably a good thing. At meet the teacher, the kids got to pick the desk they wanted for the beginning of the year, and Lincoln went straight up front and picked the desk right next to the teachers!
Me: I'm going to miss that kid while he is back at school, and I know 2 other boys that are already missing him!
The school's hours have bumped up 10 minutes. School hours are now 7:50 to 2:50. Doesn't bother us any. His bus picked him up at 7:20 this morning, which means we don't have to wake up until 7am!

Good News

This isn't Lennox, just a picture of what kind of harness he had to wear! Isn't it horrible? He had to wear this thing for 4 months, with 3 of the months being 24/7.... meaning not even taking off for a bath!!!!

Thanks for the prayers.
After 4 months of being treated with this contraption for hip dysplasia, the x-ray today showed that his hip is now 100% perfect. Yay!!!! Time to go burn the braces! Seriously! I don't want to ever see that thing again!

4 years

I can't believe it's been FOUR YEARS that I've been writing and putting pictures on this blog! If you ever get REALLY really bored, you can go to my archives on the right and venture all the back to 2006 with us and see how much our life has changed!
I think it's time to publish my blog books, so I can show the boys some day!

Base Ball Game

Friends of ours from Church gave us 2 great tickets to the Texas Rangers (versus Red Sox) game. We decided that Ron and Lincoln would go. Even though they had to beat the 107 degree weather, they said they had a blast. After the game, the kids were invited to run the bases.... Here is Lincoln running them!
(taken by Ron's blackberry camera, as he is running, too...)

And Lincoln and Ron on the field.

Next time, me and Lawson will go!!!

The Comparison

I really try to make an attempt to not "compare" the 3 boys... But I couldn't help but to get out the old baby books and compare the 4 month stats: Here's what we have:

Weight:

Lincoln: 16lbs 2 oz

Lawson: 14lbs 7 oz

Lennox: 15lbs 15 oz

Height:

Lincoln: 26.5 in

Lawson: 24.0 in

Lennox: 26.5 in

Another Bike Rider

Lawson learns to ride his bike w/o training wheels!!! For those of you that have had kids learning will know that age 4 is very early to be riding!!! This is great news for us, because we can now go on long bike rides on the trails. We have a bike trailer to put the baby in, and off we go!

4 months Stats

These numbers probably don't mean anything to most of you, but... Lennox had his 4 month check up today. His weight is 15lbs 15oz (50%tile), his height is 26.5 inches (90%tile), and his head is in the 50% (started out in the 10th, so this is great). He is perfectly healthy (except for the hip dysplasia... he has his x-ray next week). Had a bunch of shots :( but handled that better me!

Summer is Coming to a Close

I have to admit that I am pretty sad that summer is almost over. School starts on the 23rd, so we have one more week to cram in as much quality fun time as possible. I've been spoiled being able to spend day after day with my favorite 3 little one's.... I'm going to miss the big boys once school starts!
No regrets this summer, I wouldn't have changed a thing!

Moms Dinner Out

My college and beyond BFF, Gina, came up for a visit from SA. We met other college buddies whom also live in the Dallas area, Darla and Debbie for a Moms Night out dinner at PF Changs... Yum...
During the day, we visited at my house with our 5 kiddo's, then headed to a play area for the kids to burn off some steam. Great visit as always!

One Lucky Mommy

My week of Facebook posts, for those of you that refuse to get on Facebook!

I'm not sure which one is better... That I got to go to Babies R Us tonight and pick out a stroller of my choice (hated my last one) or that tomorrow I will be at the spa getting a facial. (Thanks Hubby, for both!)

Back to school shopping: DONE!!!

We decided that we couldn't send Aunt Loretta back to Colorado with out her getting to witness a fall (by both Lawson and Lincoln) that lead to lot's of blood, screaming (me), and a couple of butterfly stitches (on Lawson's cheek).....

Took the 3 boys to see Despicable Me... The baby slept the 1st half, and cuddled with me on my lap for the 2nd half, and I was really able to enjoy the time with my boys and the movie. I have to say that was the best "kids" movie I have ever seen, I loved it!

First Bite

Now that Lennox has reached his 4 month mark, he gets to start eating!
Here he is tonight, getting his 1st ever solid food, rice cereal. He loved it, and opened up WIDE for every bite! Let the feeding fun begin!

And a bonus picture, just to make sure this doesn't turn into a "baby only" blog!
My other 3 favorite men in my life!

Happy

For anyone that needs a quick 50 second baby fix:

Visitors, Visitors

Wow, what a week it's been over here for us!
As most of you know, we love to have visitors (yes, that's an invite!)... and this was our week to have some!
On Friday night, Ron's Aunt Karen and Uncle Stephen came in from San Antonio, and brought their 3 Grandchildren. We had a nice dinner, and the kids had a great bike ride and lot's of fun.
On Sunday, Jen and her baby Masen came in for a 2 night visit. Also on Sunday, my Aunt Loretta arrived. She is a college professor (retired) in Colorado, and was here for a work conference. (She is the author of some college Chemistry books... a very intelligent women!).... She was able to spend 4 nights with us (I have some pic's of her visit that will be posted soon!). Then on Monday, my BFF from San Antonio, Gina, will be here to visit with her 2 kiddo's. We'll get the kiddo's together to play for the day, then at night we will have a moms night out with some of our other college friends who live here.

Cousinnnnns

Cousins!!! Masen and Jen just left after a 2 night trip to see us here in the Big D! Here they are just hanging out: Masen is almost 3 months, and Lennox is almost 4 months. They are doing a lot of the same things, it was fun having them together!
