When Mommy Was a Little Girl....

3 months

Sue's 1st day of Kindergarden, I cried when she left.

High Chair, my mom still has this high chair...

I think in this picture I look just like Lawson. I am on the left.

Good Job A plus

Lincoln had a visit to the dentist today. He had NO cavities, and the dentist said that he looks perfect! He had his 1st full cleaning and flouride, the works. Of course, he was very cooperative. This was his 3rd visit to the dentist already.

His dentist moved offices, and we went to the new office, I just could not believe it! In the waiting area they had: a media room with full screen theatre surround sound: 3 levels of seats, they had a play area with a tree house/slide, an area for parents with a free coffe bar, huge "massage chairs" for the parents waiting, an arcade room for the kids, on and on. Can you believe this in a dentist office?? Everything here is not only child freindly, but they cater to the parents.... Nice...

Snow Day

Lincoln really enjoyed his 1st Snow Experience. He kept looking for Santa Claus, associating S.C. with the snow. Mommy wasn't prepared, he doesn't have any mittens!! Need to get some of those for the boys right now (online)!!!

White Stuff??

What is that cold white stuff falling from the sky?? Yes, it is actually SNOWING here in the Big D!! Lincoln loves it. Let him play just for a bit since he is just getting over being sick.....

2nd Bithday

Me opening up gifts on my 2nd Birthday.

Fun, Fun, notice the fancy wrapping paper (newspaper!!)

Bath Time, 1971

At Thanksgiving we were all laughing at this picture.
We thought it looked just like Lincoln and Lawson.
It is Sue and me, me the baby....
We even asked Lincoln, who is this?
And he said "me and Lawsy".

Sister's

Sue on left, me on right. Ages 2 and 4...
(Mom is scanning me lot's of childhood pics, so more to come...)

Flashback #2

My Dad holding Sister Sue in red and me with the afro on right.

Put Your Best Foot Forward

HE WALKS!!

Lawson is now officially a walker.
Last night for Ron and I, he walked across the room on two different occasions.
Then today he just decided to get up and walk everywhere....
He has great balance and coordination so he rarely falls and gets hurt. Yeah, Lawson!!
PS: Went to the DR, boys ok, upper respiratory viral stuff....
No ear infections.
More allergy meds for Lincoln and both got decongestion type things...
Looking forward to a speedy and 100% recovery..

1973

This is me on Easter in 1973. I was Linlcoln's age. Now you know where he got all his curls.....

Under the Weather

The boy's are both officially sick.
We have a doctor's appointment at 2:30 this afternoon to confirm this!

From Courtney L

Courtney L just sent me these pics from Thanksgiving...

Aren't they cute???

Christmas Tree Time

Our Big Boy Santa Claus. This will be his 4th Christmas!!
He is really having fun with it this year. He asked if Jesus was coming to Thanksgiving Dinner at Aunt Jen's. Now, he has all sorts of questions about Santa Claus.
He was waiting and watching for Santa Claus today out the front window...
Lawson's 1st Christmas this year. He is going to LOVE opening presents.
I know this because if you can see that he is sitting on a wrapped present,
it is no longer wrapped!!

Here is a sample of what he is going to want to do to the ornaments...

Then this!!

We worked today on getting the tree and decorations up.

We still have a ways to go, but here are some photo's of the fun....

Baby sitter

Yes, Ron and I got a babysitter tonight.

Miss Francie, the sophomore in college is the daughter of Miss Nancy, Lincoln's most favorist teacher at our church. I mean Lincoln really really loves miss Nancy, she was his vacation bible school teacher for a week, and if we go to service on Saturday nights she is Lincoln's teacher, and then she is also his teacher when I go to MOPS. She is soooo sweet, and is so complimentive of Lincoln, always saying how "joyful" he is...

Anyway, her daughter has fallen in love with the boys at church, and is studying to be a kindergarden teacher.

To make a long story short, she came over and we went on a date.
We went and had fondue at The Melting Pot. We are still S. T. U. F. F. E. D. We decided that we need to get out every once in awhile..... And what an easy night for a babysitter. Lawson went to sleep before she got there, and all she had to do was play with Lincoln a bit before she put him to bed. She said she got all her Christmas cards written out!!

Boys a little under the weather. Both grouchy for 2 days, Lincoln had a 100.1 this afternoon, and Lawson vomitted pretty bad earlier.... Hope they are fine tomorrow.

Lawson is no longer taking 2-3 steps, but now is taking 6-7 steps. He gets really proud of himself...

Good Night!!

The Wedding

Something I am thankful for:

In January, it will be our four year wedding anniversary.

WOW, we have done a lot in four years!! Love You Ron!!

Great Weather Today

Lawson blowing "rasberries". Boy, can he make some really silly sounds!!

Is this car supposed to be a double decker???

Static Baby!! (enlarge pic to see the full effect!!)

Couldn't pass up the opportunity for some good ole outdoor playtime!!

Name Change

Thanks for all your great suggestions.
My new blog name is:
The Flower Mound Four

Who will the prince choose?

Sadie or Jen?

I think Sadie, let me know your pick.

My Monday

Lincoln went to his 3 hour gymnastics camp today. Apparantly he had a great time, and judging by the l.o.n.g. nap I got out of him afterwards, he must have really had a great time. Meanwhile, Lawson was at home entertaining himself by going under and out of this chair skirt around 30 times. Easy to entertain!!

Thanksgiving Six

Sunday Six - Thanksgiving

1. Do you like to eat Turkey?
Yes.

2. Why do we celebrate Thanksgiving?
We want to be big like God, and play with play doh.

3. What other foods do you eat at Thanksgiving?
Turkey, pizza, juice, we play, ummmmm, that's nice.

4. Which would you rather be, a pilgrim or an Indian?
Pilgrim, I made a pilgrim hat. What is an indian?

5. Where do you celebrate Thanksgiving?
Aunt Jen's!! Aunt Jen's house!! Who is going to be there??? La La, cookies?

6. Do you have a special tradition for Thanksgiving, if so, what is it?
Yeah, I don't know. You know what it is, mommy?? Stop typing, tell me what it is...

Birthday Party

Emily's 4 year old birthday party was yesterday at Excite Party Zone. The boys had a blast. Lawson mostly enjoyed sitting in this bucket playing with balls.

Lincoln was jumping, climbing, hanging, swinging, sliding, bouncing on whatever he could find!!

I Scream

For you fellow ice cream lovers out there, you have to try the new
Blue Bell Flavor that just came out.
Missippi Mud Cake
For some reason, my whole side of the family has this addiction to Blue Bell ice cream....
Tom, Sue, and Jen: You HAVE to try this one!!

Sunday, November 19

Sunny Sunday

Another Great, Great weekend here for the Flower Mound G's. Great weather, great family time, just great all around.

Lincoln had a bowl of ice cream tonight, and he asked Ron to cut it for him. (cut ice cream??) But, being the good daddy ron is, he took a knife and fork and cut the ice cream for him.

We saved 60.00 today on the grocery game. Yeah, Christmas money!!

Did some garage-saling. Got bunch of things to sell on ebay, some already sold.... Got the boys a new bike with training wheels, Fisher Price, never used for a whopping $2.00. We already got our 2 dollars worth: they have been playing with it all weekend. Love those deals!!!!

Nephew Matthew will be turning 16 this month. WOW, where has the time gone. Remember when he was Lincoln's age: couldn't get enough of him. I ALWAYS wanted to play with him!!

Looking forward to this holiday week. Ron will work only 2 days, WOW!! Lincoln has his gymnastics camp tomorrow, 9-12: drop off. That will give me some time to get ready for the holiday. Tuesday, we will go see an ice scultpture exhibit with the Wueste's.

Dad's Scarf...

Dad said that the only scarf he wears still is the one I made him when I was 10. DAD, I promise that I will make you a new (and much better) scarf. What color would you like???

Earlier Today

Mom, can I eat this leaf??

I have a feeling this may be one of his last "crawling" pictures. He is really taking steps now, and he seems so focussed to learn to walk.... Not much longer now...

Blankie

In my spare time (lol), one of my hobbie's (now) is crocheting blankets. I used to crochet when I was very young. In fact, I was about 10 when I made my Dad a brown scarf that I've seen him still wear occasionally.

This blanket I made for Lawson when he was 1st born. It is just a small "lovey". He actually sleeps with every night, he cuddles his face up to it. This blanket does not leave the house, because I am famous for losing their mostest favortite blankies.....

This is a "before" picture of the blanket I am now making for the boys. It will be the size of a throw. I think this blanket will take me about a year to make, since I only do one row every night before bed. This type of thing I absolutely can not do unless they are both sound asleep. Anyway, I will post the after picture when it is done in about a year from now!! (I may surprise us all, I have a thing about not having any pending projects...) When I get insomnia, I read or crochet (or get on the computer!!)

PBS

It's ABOUT time PBS decided to be included "on Demand". This is life changing for us. Now we can watach all those educational shows for the kids at the touch of a fingertip. You see, here in Dallas Sesame Street comes on at 11:00, which 99% of time we are NOT home at 11:00. So, since we moved here Lincoln has watched it about 3 times. Now, we can watch it when ever we want!! In Houston, it came on at 7:30am which was perfect to wake up to.

So on that note, Lincoln is in my bed under the covers eating popcorn and watching Sesame Street on our TV, while I had to wrap up some ebay sales.... (who would have known that there are 8 people out there that desperately want my old shower curtain that has been sitting in my linen closet for 5 yrs.....)

WELCOME BACK RON!!! Ron will return momentaritly from a 2 night trip to Des Moine, Iowa. Yeah, we missed him!!

Another Poll

Ron was joking with Lincoln and told him it looked like he had a mop on his head.
So for several days afterwards Lincoln tells everyone who will listen to him, "
I have a mop on my head", "my daddy says so".
So, this brings me to my poll of the day....

Chop or Stay???
Is Lincoln getting too old for these long curls?
Or should we keep them?
Let me know in one word: chop or stay

Friday Funnies

Have you ever wondered why you are supposed to put a bumper in the crib?
Well, here is a visual. Had to wash the bumper today, so when I checked on
Lawson during his nap just now, this is what I found. Ouch! But he sure looked comfy!!

So, I hear this banging and strange noises and I think, what is Lincoln getting into. I go into the kitchen and this is what I find. Lincoln sitting at the table, he had gotten a large pan, a strainer, a cake box, and chocolate chips. I asked him what he was making and he said "a cake". I asked him what kind of cake, and he said "a blue one".

I thought the funniest part was that he was actually "reading" the instructions on the back of the cake box. I guess he always see's mommy doing this, I follow these things to a tee....

Thunder Thursday

Great Thursday Today.

Gymanstics went well, Coach Jack was out today so that really confused Lincoln. We will be having Lincoln's birthday party where he goes to gymnastics, so if you are interested in coming in town December 1oth, let me know and I'll get you the details!!

After Gymnastics, we met friends Debbie T, Ben, Darla and Emily at Chuck E Cheese for pizza and lots and lots of playtime!!

Mommy took a nap today, wow that felt great!!

Next door neighbors invited us over for taco dinner tonight. I've got to go make some cookies real quick to bring over (real quick, I have those frozen fundraiser cookies in the freezer, love those!!)

A friend of mine's mother passed away last night after a long battle with cancer. Please keep Nichole Stone and her family in your prayers.

Idea's

I am in need of a new more creative name for my blog. Cynthia G just isn't doing it anymore. Any suggestions???

Some People Don't Understand

I can't believe this!! Click on this to read the story:

Woman kicked off plane for breast-feeding baby

Do you know how many times I have nursed my boys on the plane? Do you know how mortifying it would have been for me to be kicked off the plane???

Good Bye Ole Friend....

Lawson has gone 4 whole days now without his paci, so we are going to make them all disappear. Easier now then later. He just isn't interested in it, and throws it on the ground. Don't want to force the issue!!

On another note, Lawson is taking his first few steps. He can stand, bend over to pick something up, stand back up, and he has been taking up to 3 steps. He does it so carefully and so thought out. It won't be long before he is walking, and we sure aren't pushing it. He'll do it in his own time!!

Lawson got tooth 4, so now he has 2 on top and 2 on bottom.

Still waiting for more hair to come in to see if it will be straight or curly (I'm still going for curly and ron straight...)

Big BIrd

Request for Lincoln's completed stuffed Big Bird. He choose a red fleece vest and big boy underpants for him to wear..... He has been carried around ever since bringing him home.

Favor

Ok, I have a request.
Can one of you, doesn't matter who, start a family blog?
I promise it only takes 5 minutes to set the WHOLE thing up.
Then it takes just a couple of minutes for each entry.
I just really wish I could talk to someone else about the blog, like, compare things, ask questions like how do you download pics in order, etc...
I REALLY would like to READ a blog, and not just write one.
My only option right now is to read total strangers blogs.
I don't know anyone who has one.
SO, Please please please someone else start one. It's so much fun, and such an easy way to keep everyone updated on your life.
It's also such a good way to document your children's milestones, I print off my entries in order to keep for them.
Ok, that's it.

Build a Bear

Some Highlights of our day at Build A Bear, and Grapevine Mills Mall. Out of order, of course, haven't figured that out yet. At Build a Bear, they pick out which animal they want to make, stuff it, put in a heart that they have made a wish with, put in a voice box, give it a bath, pick out clothes to wear, and make a birth certificate. FUN!!
Emily and Lincoln giving thier animals a bath before putting clothes on them.

Lincoln pushing the pedal that puts in the stuffing. "wow, cool, neat" he says... By the way, he picked out a Big Bird to make and Emily picked out a Pink Poodle.

Lawson playing in a bear's car....

Lincoln giving the heart a kiss and making a wish before it is put inside the bear. He took this really seriously, wonder what he wished for...

Playing with the Burger King happy meal toy's....Penguins.

Lawson playing on the computer, I guess he takes after his brother...

The final product!! The animals got "homes" out of boxes.

What a Sight we were going through the mall....

Tomorrow's Plan

We will be taking Emily to Build a Bear tomorrow for her birthday present. She and Lincoln will be able to make their own furry friends to bring home and love. Her birthday party is on Sunday.
If you have no idea what build a bear is, check out the website at:
www.buildabear.com
Of course, Pics will be taken and posted...

Thanks, comments

Thank You Mom (Geri Robinson) for keeping up with our blog, and for all your special "comments". Keep them coming, we like to here your feedback!! Can't wait for your visit next month...

I love this kid, too

Loved the shots I took earlier of Lincoln,
so I propped Lawson up on the table to
see what would happen..... Cute....
