Hip Dysplasia

During Lennox's newborn check up, the doctor discovered a "hip click" in his right hip. I had to take him to Plano yesterday to get a sonogram on his hip. They discovered that he has Hip Dysplasia. Basically, his hip joint is not in socket. It's not all the way dislocated, but almost. Most likely this happened while in the womb because his leg was not in a good position (hence the funny way I was carrying him). I have to take him to see an orthopedic, and he will be fitted for a brace/harness, which basically will hold his legs into place to get the joint to go back in socket. He will probably have to wear it for 4-6 weeks, but we will see what the orthopedic says at the appointment.

Oh, sweet Lennox! It's probably harder on you than him as far as wearing the brace. Glad it will be corrected. Hope you're doing well. Bringing dinner to your family next week. I'll contact you. Bet you're enjoying the bond your three boys are growing together!!

Poor little guy. I'm glad that they will be able to correct it with a brace. Like mother like son!
