Firsts
There is a first time for everything. Today was my first time to successfully bake 2 loaves of homemade bread. Come on over for dinner tonight and try a piece, you won't be disappointed...
Lawson and I also baked a loaf of banana bread. Not for the 1st time. Mommy's little helper #2. Both boys love the kitchen, we spend a lot of time there. (and yes, notice the hair cut...bangs too short, may go for a cute bowl cut next time...)
Lincoln made a batch of blue jello all by himself. First time. Boy was eating that for a snack a hit. Lincoln said "mommy, when I touch this jello it feels like your belly".... Hello??? I just had 2 kids, and yes my tummy is still a bit jello-y...
We stayed at home all day and enjoyed our home, but tonight I'll drop Lincoln off at AWANA and take Lawson to a make up gymnastics class...

Bug
I had that nasty stomache bug over part of the weekend. You know that 24 hr thing... vomiting,etc... Most annoying is every part of my body ached and hurt. For some reason my feet hurt the most.
This morning I woke up and feel perfectly normal. That's the great thing about those 24 hr things, they come and GO..... Seems like here in Dallas the 24 hr thing is a lot more popular...
So, off to MOPS we go this am.

Little Bit of Trouble
On Friday we went to a gymnastics playdate at Excite Gym. This is a video of Lawson and one of his friends Andrew getting into some trouble. Andrew is the other curly haired boy on the right, Lawson is at the fountain.... They didn't know I was watching them and needless to say Lawson was soaking wet after this...
Mud Bath
The boys have been patiently awaiting being allowed to use thier "mud bath" supplies they were given by The Wilsons for Christmas. It is bath soap that looks like mud. Right up their alley, they love to get as dirty as they can get (but really they were getting clean...)
PS. Yes, haircuts this week... Little out of control.....

Yikes Daddy
This pic was taken was Mommy wasn't around... Over at Nanny and Grandpa Dave's place...
Ron and Lawson are our early birds, while Lincoln and Mommy like to sleep in.
So, every Saturday am while Nanny was here, the early birds got up and went straight over to Nanny's to join the other early birds for breakfast.... Apparently this is what the early birds do while me and Lincoln sleep in......

Nanny and Grandpa Dave left today. We will miss them soooo much. We hope to vacation in Florida in April at their place in Melbourne Beach. (they are actually in Houston this week
, then will head to Fl)
Lawson kissing mommy bye bye, as I head out for a girls night out at Melting Pot.
While I was gone, the boys gave Miss Lucky her first bath at our house. All was well, she liked it.

Dog Answers....
To answer your questions, Sue...
A couple of weeks ago, Ron and I were doing our dog research (again) and came up with the outcome of how a Golden Retriever would work for our family... Well, we looked into the rescue league, and that was about it.
THEN coincidently, a couple weeks later someone that works for Ron asked him if he knew of anyone that was looking for a dog because he a Golden Retriever that they needed a new home for... So it all just kind of fell in our lap. We were so wishy washy about a dog, so this just helped us make our decision.
The reason they couldn't keep her: The wife had the puppy since 4 weeks old, before she was married. Then she married, had a baby, etc.... They recently downsized to a duplex without a backyard. They both work long shifts, and the dog was kenneled for 10 hours a day... The wife is really attached to the dog, but "wanted something better" for her. She wanted the dog to have a good home, with a family to play with, etc.....
Sleeping: right now, she is sleeping in the kennel overnight.... We can't trust her yet mostly about chewing up the toys... I want her to eventually sleep with the boys... She sleeps on the foot of Lincoln's bed when we are in there reading.
This morning I woke up and she was in my bed!! Ron let her out to potty, didn't put her back in the kennel, so she helped herself to my bed... (this is NOT going to be a permanent situation)...
She loves going on rides. She jumped in the back of the Suburban to pick up Lincoln from preschool so that was fun...
We've had a great couple of days with her!! She loves Kong. It's the only thing she can't chew up.
And YES she looks like Kelly. I've been accidently calling her Kelly. She also reminds me of Flame (NOT her personality). Her personality is more like Kelly's, but since she is younger she is much more "hyper" at times... playful...
Oh yeah, her "old name" is Tipsy. She was named Tipsy bc it looks like her paws, chest, and tail were dipped in white paint (like Kelly). I didn't like the name Tipsy bc it reminds me of being "drunk"... So, Lincoln renamed her to Lucky, and I to Miss Lucky because... too many L names in this household already..... at least miss lucky starts with an M, and it makes the name Lucky a bit more feminine. Oh yeah, she is bigger than Kelly, but apparantly on the very small side for Golden's (her father is twice her size)....

Happy Birthday
Presenting
We'd like to present to you our "visitor" and possibly our new pet. Her name is Miss Lucky. Long Story on the name. She is a 53 lb Golden Retriever and is 3.5 yrs old. She is very well trained, and she is fitting quite well with our family. This dog is lots easier than our last.... Like I said she freaks out for pictures, but this is the best I got. The. Boys. Love. Her....
Some of you know, I'm just not a dog person. But this is something I was willing to do for my two (active) boys, as they just love love love dogs.....
An Addtion
OK here goes...
Surprise...
We are trying out the dog thing again. We have a dog "on trial" here for a week. She is a Golden Retriever, and is 3 1/2 years old. Which means she is already trained. So far, for the first 24 hours, she has done great. She is a really easy dog, and of course the boys love her. Her previous home had a 2 yr old boy as well, and when we went over there the boy was riding on the dog, dragging the dog by it's tail, etc... So, we know that she will be able to handle our boys, and she doesn't have a vicious bone in her body. She is fully house trained, knows some commands, kennel trained, and so far has been working into "our schedule" just fine... We'll see. Lincoln says we are just "babysitting the dog" because we haven't decided if we will keep her yet. I'll post some pics soon. Every time I get out my camera she gets hyper...

Fun Friday
Friday:
1. We started the day off by getting Lawson's 2 year old pics made. See below, super adorable...
2. Then we went to Chick fil a looking for the veggie tales, not there, play area was closed for cleaning, bummer.
3. Came home, Nanny watched the boys while Mommy met Daddy for a lunch date. yummy.
4. We have snow flurries today. Nothing sticking to the ground, but saw huge white flakes falling from the sky. Haven't seen them at home yet, but when I was driving out there.
5. Looking forward to a nice and relaxing (possible????) weekend. Enjoy Yours...
6. By the way, guess what I got in the MAIL today?? My brother backed up and downloaded the WHOLE flower mound four blog. Let me tell you that was not an easy task. It is 2 years worth of this kind of thing, random ramblings, pictures, and 1000 entries!!! Thank You Tom. It's nice to have a computer genius in the family....

4. Great stir fry made by Nanny. Great rice pudding for dessert.
5. Weekend is here.
6. What else could I ask for? Life is good.
Friends
Lincoln wanted me to add these pics to the blog. These are 2 of his "best buds" at preschool. The little girl is Taylor. She also goes to our church, and also has been in gymnastics classes with Lincoln. The boy is Josh. His first male friend...ever... We are going to have him over soon. Lincoln asked me today... "Mommy, when Lawson gets a little bit older can we start calling him Josh??"...
The morning of the birthday party, my multi talented hubby got online and learned how to make hats and other things out of balloons. So you will see in all the bday pics the balloon hats... made by ron. I'm not sure who made this contraption on Lincolns head. It was fun bc everyone was trying to make different things.
