Improving the Rainbow

Ron's been working on updating and improving our existing swing set. The boys were able to make requests, and they wanted the top are to be enclosed.... So, here they are with some neighbor friends (Lawson in blue on left and Lincoln in yellow) trying out their new "fort". I have to say this swing set had gotten it's share of use, and has plenty of life left!

Lawson versus (another) Lawson

Lawson, our super soccer star, met his match tonight at the game. On the opposing team, there was another boy named Lawson! Coincidentally, the other Lawson was also #5, and the 2 Lawson's were the stars of the team. So confusing for Lawson (ours) to be hearing a stand full of people yelling for the other Lawson.... Anyways despite the other Lawson, he had another great game and now realized that he may have to start practicing for the next time we are up against that team!
***** note: as I was talking to the other Lawson's mom, I found out that she has a daughter (or a dog, I couldn't understand her with all the yelling) named Lennox!!! What are the odd's???
*****note #2: Lawson (ours) is in the white shirt, #5!!!

Horsie

Grammy took Lennox on his 1st merry go round ride today, as I realized that she has taken all 3 of my boys on their 1st carousal ride. He liked it at 1st, but by the end wanted off!

Grammy!!!

Did I mention that Grammy (my mom) was visiting. She will be in town for 2 weeks!!! She will stay with us for one week, and stay with an out of town friend at a hotel for a week. We plan on keeping her plenty busy!

New Hat

Looky Looky at the cute new hat that I scored for FREE from one of my deal savings adventures.... He loves it because it's made from the same material as his favorite blankies...

9-23-10

Looks like my long awaited 4oth birthday has come and gone, and I survived! My dear hubster pulled off throwing me a surprise party... I was very impressed with his planning! (party pics to follow....) Ron reserved a private room at our favorite local steakhouse. Dinner and app's were served buffet style.... Ron ordered up beautiful floral arrangements for the tables, decorated with balloons..... Had my favorite cake from my favorite local bakery. Invited friends without me being aware.... Wow, he deserves hubby of the year for this!
As far as turning 40 goes, it wasn't bad after all! I love my life right now so how can I complain? The baby was the best 40th b-day present I could wish for!
And to think, I have 6 years to plan something for Ron's 40th.... hmmmmm

Denim

My little stud muffin. 5 months old!
After seeing my niece in jeans, I decided I needed to dress him in his "big boy" jeans and shirt!
Little baby boys look so cute in denim!

Laela!!!

This is the boy's new baby cousin, Laela! Reaah (Ron's sister) and Aldo's new baby girl. They live in Florida so unfortunately we haven't been able to meet her but are REALLY looking forward to Spring Break when we get to see her!

Lincoln, Lawson, and Lennox's baby cousin (one of them!)

I'm sure that most of you that read my blog also stop over at my sister's blog...
But if not, I've got to show her off... here is a recent picture of her sweet little girl, Masen, who is 4 months old now.

Winter Swims

Lincoln and I were excited to learn that he gets to continue to participate on his swim team throughout the whole school year . They have "clinics" every Friday night throughout the winter, which is great news... Once a week practices are perfect for us! Each clinic they focus on a different stroke. He should be more than prepared for the beginning of swim team as summer approaches next year. He is also signed up to compete in 3 events in a November swim meet.

"me" bag

This is the kind of post that is intended for the enjoyment of Grandparents.... everyone else may wonder why in the world am I putting this picture on here! This is the content's of Lawson's "me bag" for his preschool. The assignment was to put in 5 things that represented them so the class could get to know them, and it was a show and tell.... So, these 5 things were picked out by he himself:
Shin Guard: because he loves soccer
Chalk: because he loves to draw
Cross: because he loves Jesus :)
Video Game
Goggles: loves swimming

Lucky 13

Lawson, our goal scoring machine super soccer star, made 13 goals today at soccer game #2! Not much is more exciting than seeing your own child out there having a blast and pounding in the goals! Come watch him sometime! It's amazing at what a natural athlete he is.... we guessed this from the time he was a baby!

Momma's Boy

Lawson was in the mood today to follow me around snapping pictures (photography is another of his many talents!), so these pictures are for you out there that keep asking where all the pictures of me are!

One of those cute video's gone viral

Our Little Soccer Star!!!

Lawson had his 1st ever soccer game tonight!!!

How many goals did you score tonight Lawson?
SEVEN!!!
(out of 11 total for his team, the other team scored 2)
Wow, this kid has got some soccer skills!
I am one proud soccer mom right now!
Within 30 seconds of the game beginning, Lawson gets the ball and makes a goal. Then another, then another, then another. He had made the 1st 4 goals within the 1st 10 minutes of the game.... very exciting!

Baby Food Fun

I have concluded that baby food making is addictive! Once you begin, it's hard to stop! It's surprising how easy it is to make so much! The "easy" way it basically steam the veggies, puree, place in ice cube trays, freeze, pop out the cubes, and place in freezer in zip lock bag. When you need them, you just grab a cube (a portion) out of the ziplock. I have about 3 months worth of squash, sweet potatoes, and carrots in the freezer. Surprisingly easy, and so rewarding to feed your baby fresh veggies that you have prepared versus the alternatives.

Random Pictures

Ron couldn't stop cracking up at this picture, he even has it on his Facebook profile.

Boys playing Lego's. I thought it was funny because after they get done with a bike ride, they keep their helmets on for hours.
Not sure if they forget to take them off or just like wearing them.

Lawson and me playing on the front porch during a bad storm.

Lawson can't enough of cuddling with the baby!

Ugly tie night for awana's.

Firetruck Ride

Having some fun at Yogi Bear Park (Burleson) for Labor Day.
(when we returned, our computer was crashed... got a new one... and it is a touch screen, so I'm trying it out!)

Labor day Getaway

We had so much fun in the summer at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park (near Houston), that we made last minute plans to try out the new Yogi Bear park here, right outside of Ft Worth for the labor day holiday weekend. We just had the "feeling" of needing to "get away from it all" and get out of town (even though we really were "in town"). It turned out to be a great weekend of family bonding time! Lot's of cook-outs, lots of swimming, bike riding, fire truck rides, hay rides with Yogi Bear, lots of smores, naps, and relaxation. Absolutely no phones, video games, tv's, computers... It was great, and the best part of it was when we packed up and headed home we were only 45 minutes away, so that beats our normal 5-6 hour (miserable) drive home. I've got cute pictures to post, however I came home to a crashed computer, so I'm waiting for my helpful hubby to fix it or more likely replace it!

Boys and Boys and Boys

Lennox loved having his friends over to play!
Today, we hosted our neighborhood baby boy playgroup.
I made cappuccino's and crumb cake for the mommy's!
Sitting on the couch picture they are lined up by age left to right.
On left is Jessie, then Christian, then Lennox is the youngest.
I think the baby playtime wore him out because he has been napping since they left!
