Hunting Trip
Ron and Lincoln are taking a trip in November!
They are going to upstate New York for opening hunting day with Ron's dad (Papa Paul).
A five year old, hunting??? It's going to be a memory maker...especially since it will be cold cold cold!! So, my mission right now is to gather up all the neccesary clothes that Lincoln will need!

Pooh & Skunk
Winnie the Pooh and The Skunk.
Heading to a Birthday/Halloween party for a friend of Lawson's from preschool.
Lawson has "costume issue's". This was costume #4 he was wearing in 10 minutes. All costume's "itch" him or are just too uncomfortable. He's just one of those. Pooh wasn't the tough super hero he wanted to be, but it won for the most tolerable. It lasted on him for 30 minutes before he just had to have it off. So much for the pirate costume I bought him! How are we going to make it through Trick or Treating?

Tpy-o
You can't edit a poll once there are votes, and I have a typ-o!
I'm sure you have figured out that I mean that you are voting for what you THINK we are having, and not HOPING that we are having (ok ok ok, we all know what you are HOPING we are having, that's obvious...)
Loving it, right now my poll is tied 5 to 5.
By the way, we are 100% absolutely excited if it's a boy OR a girl. For obvious reasons, it would be awesome to have a girl, BUT 3 boys: how fun would that be? I know I love boys, and know how to be a boy mom, and can you imagine all 3 brothers growing up together??? But then again, all those ruffles and pink bows, blonde curls on a girl??? I'm torn either way. Just looking forward to finding out.
I'ts 65 and sunny, I'm going outside!

Time at Kinder
Today I got to help out in Lincoln's classroom. His teacher was doing testing, so I got to monitor and help out the kids with their class assignment. I've done my share of substitute teaching in my past, so it was natural for me to be helping the class. I'm going back next week, and will probably work this hour in as a regular "volunteer".
My hour in the kindergarten was pretty interesting. Let's just say I've learned which kids that won't be invited to Lincoln's "drop off" birthday party! Not that Lincoln would have invited any misbehaved kids..... It's amazing how just one misbehaved child can be such a distraction to the learning environment in a classroom. I feel for those teachers that have to spend the majority of the time dealing with one or two disruptive kids instead of focussing on the well behaved, eager to learn students. Public school! Needless to say, I'm very happy with Lincoln's school and with his teacher. I was also very proud of Lincoln in class today, he's probably every teachers dream student!

What Falls in the Fall
Lincoln had to pick a poem out of several Fall poems, memorize it at home, and recite it at school today. Here he is reciting his poem, What Falls in the Fall.

Spike
Lincoln got a new hamster, his name is Spike.
He is pretty entertaining to watch, but so far I'm not sure if he will ever be able to hold him.
He bites.

Flu Shots Done, Check
Every year, the boys and I get flu shots. Pretty routine, no problems. For some reason, this year I have been bombarded with emails and discussions about why people don't agree with flu shots. I guess I never realized it was such a controversal topic.
Well, I got my flu shot and the boys got Flu Mist. So there. Now I feel as if I have to "justify" it! The flu right now is rampant at their schools, and all around the town. I'm pregnant, and well since so many other other kids are NOT getting the flu shot, that means the flu is going to continue to go around. Well, I did my research and where I stand on the flu shot is, just get it! Hey, who wants to get the flu? We don't, and now we are a higher percentage immune to it. And I feel good about my decision to protect us as well as I can.
Good Luck!
So, now my next decision is if I should get the H1N1 vaccine. Apparantly, 1 out of 3 women who are pregnant who get the Swine Flu die. Hey this is serious! I'd rather suffer the vaccine side effects than Die! My OBGYN is encouraging me to get it. And so far, I haven't seen any reason not to, but I'm still deciding on this one!

$$$
Lincoln has $43.00 saved up from his allowance, tooth fairy money, etc. He's a good saver, he hasn't spent a dime. He asked if he could give the whole $43.00 to Church. I explained to him about 10% tithing, so he will give $4.00 and save up a bit more to buy a used Gameboy since his broke and he really misses it!

The Calm After the Storm
After a day filled with sprinkles and drizzles, we had a huge storm in our area. 70mph winds along with Hail. The tornado alarms were going off, and we got a code red call. It came and went in about 30minutes. Afterwards, the sun came out so the boys went exploring and found lot's of interesting things like raging waters and trash cans floating down the road! (It was trash day today, and no one had brought in the cans yet so they were everywhere!)
