Visting with the Elf at Bass Pro

Return from Vacay

Lincoln and his Daddy had a fun time on their Upstate New York vacation/hunting trip. They didn't get home last night from the airport until 1:30 AM!!! And then Ron had to turn right around and go catch another flight out for work... bummer.
Haven't gotten all the details, but it sounds like they both had a great time. Got to spend time with all the family and of course, hunt. Ron shot a deer, but then the same day hit a deer with his rental car.
We are more than happy to have Lincoln back with us. Lawson was REALLY missing his Bubby, they have never been apart for that long!
Today we will be packing up, and heading to Houston for Thanksgiving week!

Pregnancy Drama, when does it end?

Just to clear some things up....

The results of my Quad Screen blood work came back as positive for Down's Syndrome. They told me not to panic because there is a 5% false positive rate. Well that meant that the results were 95% chance of being accurate. Since I am 39 yrs old, my chances of having a baby with Down's is quite high, so naturally I panicked.
I had to go to a specialist, which fortunately could see me the very next day. I had a Level II ultrasound, and the baby was absolutely perfect!!! They checked about 20 different markers and measurements for Down's, and the baby didn't have a single thing wrong with him. (Praise God) Fortunately I was within that 5% false positive rate.
Yes, I knew better than to overreact, for we went through something very similar with my 1st pregnancy which turned out to be a false alarm. But I couldn't help it, I pretty much freaked out.
The specialist recommended an ultrasound every 4 weeks for now on. Just to make sure the baby is growing and still doing good. It was so cute on the ultrasound yesterday, the baby was yawning, rubbing his face, and sucking on his fingers. I like the idea of "checking in" on the baby every 4 weeks.
So that's that. Moving on the 2nd part of my pregnancy which to me is 100% better. The 1st half is tough! From now on, let's just hope for smooth sailing. And no more false positives.

We are having a.....

God made me to be a boy Mom.
We'll be welcoming boy #3 into Flower Mound Four!
Let the fun begin, it's going to be a wild ride.
We are VERY excited about having 3 boys!!! (why add a girl into the mix at this point???)

Belly

I'm not a big fan of belly shots of myself. But here goes....
This is something that you have to see to believe!
Here I am today, at 17.5 weeks.
For those of you that don't know better, this is HUGE for only being 17 weeks!!!
By the way, in 2 days (Tuesday), the gender will be known!

Heartbeat and H1N1

Had an OBGYN appointment today.

Had a scare at 1st, because she couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler. So, she took me into the sonogram room and did a quick one. Baby was just in an awkward position to find the heartbeat, but it was found!! Heartbeat is 154 (range is 120-180, that's right in the average). And since I had a surprise sonogram done, I got to see the baby's face and see the legs kicking around :)
Made an appointment in 2 weeks to have the anatomy/gender sonogram. Excited for that!!!
Had some blood work done today, and also got my H1N1 shot!!! At least now I have one less thing to worry about (getting the flu). Apparantly swine flu takes a toll on pregnant women, and many of them die.

The Ultimate Ramen Experience

A sweet friend of mine from MOPS/church, Jenny, entered a recipe in a Pei Wei (Facebook) contest. (If you don't know what Pei Wei is, find out, you're missing it!)
Well, she ended up winning. Her big prize was the "Ultimate Ramen Experience" for her and 9 friends. She decided to have a drawing of people that voted for her and were interested in attending with her. Well, I voted, and my name was drawn out of her 50 or so names that she had. I actually won something!!

So, last night.... The top Pei Wei corporate chefs came in to cook for US.... Our party of 10 was treated like royalty, not to mention we were each served a $100.00 dish of Lobster and Kobe steak! Also, a never ending stream of appetizers beforehand. We left with souvenir chopsticks and a gift card each.... It was so much fun and a great memory!! This picture is of me, Jenny (the winner), and Corrie another MOPS friend.
You can read a little about her Pei Wei adventure on her blog.
And see her three cute boys right here:
Thanks Jenny!

Drama Camp

Lincoln has taken an interest in Drama/Theatre at school.
This weekend he will be going to a Drama Workshop at our High School.
The HS drama students and teachers are doing a half day workshop for kids K-8th.
They are going to have a fun filled day of skits, games, costumes, dance, movement, etc...
The parents get to come at the last 30 minutes to watch a performance of Beauty and the Beast with the kids performing.
He's excited, and I have to admit it will feel strange to me dropping him off at the High School!
