boys boys boys

We're having fun getting the baby to smile... He has the cutest smile! The other thing he has been doing this week is learning to use his hands. He has begun to "bat" at toys, and he grabs on to my shirt and won't let go.... He continues to be calm, content, happy, sleepy baby... But he is really getting a personality. One night last week he was crying at bedtime, which is unusual for him... He was actually screaming as if in pain for a couple of hours. At 10pm, we decided that I should take him up to the after hours clinic... Of course, the 1/4 mile drive over to the clinic cured him b/c as soon as we got there he was all smiles and coo's for the Doc. Apparently, he must have had a gas bubble or something. Oh well, better safe than sorry!

Lincoln has been training for swim team. He is best at the back stroke. In just a couple of weeks he will have his 1st swim meet! He looked adorable as he performed at the school PTA meeting, singing songs with hand motions. I can't believe he is finishing up Kindergarten already! He is still in piano, and even though it is a struggle to get him to practice, he is doing well. He is such a great big brother to the baby and is learning new ways to help each day. He is a great help when Ron is out of town!

Lawson decided to cut his own bangs, so we are working on growing out an awkward style! He was presented with several awards for Awana (church program), including the highest honor of Cubby of the Year! He is very proud of that trophy, he worked hard for it! He completed lot's of homework, and memorized a lot of bible verses. He has finished preschool and is looking forward to going to Pre-K next year at the same school he went to this year. He'll continue to go just 2 days a week. I'm not ready to let someone else have him longer than that quite yet! He is also looking forward to starting Soccer Team in the fall.

Locks of Love

After I had the baby, I was having thoughts of chopping off my hair... it was bugging me so much! I finally got brave enough to chop off 12 inches, and donated it to Locks of Love (they make wigs for children cancer patients). I've had long hair my whole life, except for the short period the last time I did this when I was pregnant with Lincoln. You're probably thinking that it doesn't even look that short to take off 12 inches, but my hair had gotten really long during my pregnancy, I always wore it up... but it was getting super long. So far, I like it... It feels really weird... But it's going to be a nice summer cut. I put it in a ponytail tonight and it's this tiny little stump, it's so funny to me!

We survived a trip from Dallas to San Antonio, to meet my new niece Masen. She's a very, very good baby and super cute too.... Lennox and her are bound to be best cousin/buddies!!!
We had a great, fun filled weekend!

Awake

6 week old "awake" picture... It's funny how I can already tell such a difference in him from looking back at his old pictures... So fun to watch him grow and change.

I've been here for 6 weeks now!!!

I can't believe Lennox is 6 weeks old today! He is still a huge sleepy head, sleepy around 20 hrs a day. He has become a big eater, and has caught up and then some on his weight. He is a very calm and content baby, which makes it very easy to have 3 boys! He is really loved by his big brothers.

He is still wearing the body brace to treat his hip dysplasia. He will wear it for an entire 3 months full time, 24/7 (this means the brace NEVER comes off not even for a bath :( Then at 3 months, he will wear it only during naps and overnight for another month. At that time, which will be 4 total months of treatment he will get an X-ray on the hip socket to make sure it has grown back into place (lots of crossed fingers, and of course prayers please!). We can't complain.... this is the only problem he has and it's temporary, we are blessed.

Camping In

The boys camping trip was ruined due to the rain, so Ron set up the tent in our living room and the 3 of them are spending the night in the tent. Apparantly, the tent will be up for the entire weekend and they will camp out (in) tomorrow night as well!

Mother's Day 2010

Happy Mother's Day to all of our family and friends out there who are Moms!!!
I love being mommy to one, two, THREE boys!!! It was a great day, even though I didn't get my nap!! I did get my individual serving coffee maker, crafts made by the boys, lunch out and dinner made by Ron.

Swim Tea***m

And so swim team responsibilities begin!! Starting this weekend, Lincoln will have swim team practice every Friday night from 8-9pm (yes, PM... he normally goes to bed at 7:30!!), and every Saturday am. This is pre-season practices, until school is out when he will have practice every single morning with swim meets on Saturdays. So far, he loves it, and is doing awesome!!! We are all excited about him being on the swim team, and can't wait to see how he does at his 1st swim meet. He will definitely have had plenty of practice time! He is great at the backstroke!

PS... Lennox is finally gaining some weight! At his one month check up he was 8lbs 5oz, with his brace on. We aren't sure how much weight to subtract for the brace but regardless he is finally back up to his birth weight. I believe he may be going through a growth spurt, because he is on an eating/sleeping frenzy! All is great in the baby world!!!

3 1/2 weeks

Enjoying each and every precious baby moment!!!
On Friday, we have his one month well check.
Excuse me, did someone say that he is a month old???? When did this happen??? Getting lot's of awake time, and also lot's of cute smiling!!!

Sunday, May 2

He's awake!!!

Lennox and his big blue eye's....
(Those aren't my legs!! He's laying on Daddy's lap... just saying)
My Three Sons!!!

Just another sleeping baby picture!!!

Three Weeks Old!!! Baby updates:
Almost up to birth weight, he is 7lbs 6oz (birth weight 7lbs 9oz)
He has his 1 month visit Friday!!! So, we'll see how his weight is!
(we are certain he has gained, he has been eating a lot and we have been supplementing)
He had thrush in his mouth, so he is taking 2 meds for that... for 14 days!!! To make sure it's cleared up and doesn't come back....
He has started to wear his brace/harness for his hip dysplasia... This has been an adjustment for us all... ie.. he can never take it off... not even for a bath! He can't wear most clothes, just t-shirts or gowns.... and we have been having to get creative in ways to hold him... but hoping for a 100% recovery, and quickly! (worst case scenario 3 months)
He continues to be a calm, content, happy baby.
He loves to sleep, but is having much more awake/active time.
He is becoming much more aware of his surroundings, and enjoys just looking around observing...
We are getting on somewhat of a routine... He stays awake for the entire morning, then sleep the entire day, then is awake for the entire late afternoon/evening. Starting to implement Babywise to meet my goal of him sleeping through the night by 6 weeks!
