It Won't Be Like This For Long

My babies are growing up too fast.
It's bittersweet.
I'm enjoying every moment, because if I don't I know I will have regret.

This video hit home, if you haven't seen it or heard it, click on it and take a look.

Some Quick Visitors

When we got back from our cruise, we brought Lauren back home with us. Sue, Steve, and Matthew came and picked her up between traveling from Tech back to Galveston.... So, we got to visit for a quick hour with The Wilsons. Great to see them if only for a bit. Sue and Matthew will be back in just a couple of weeks while they are moving Matthew from home to college.
And it was such a treat having Lauren for the week. She's 16 now, and growing up fast!!!

Exciting News

Congratulations to Reaah (Ron's sister) and Aldo!!!
They recently got engaged, and will be tying the knot, soon???
Aldo, welcome to the family, you are in for an exciting time!!
Reaah and Aldo had such an instant connection because they have so much in common. They both love to have fun, and don't slow down much. They both love the beach and the outdoors. They are going to make such a great (married) couple!

The one and only La La

We have had the privilege of enjoying Lauren's company this week.
We've done lots of swimming! And bowling, shopping, eating, biking, etc...
She even has an official babysitting job tomorrow.
We'll miss her when she leaves tomorrow.

Nanny Camp

While we were on our cruise, the boys stayed home and had a "staycation", or "Nanny Camp" I like to call it....
Ron's mom flew in from Florida to watch the boys.... Apparantly they had a great time... She even got them to piano lessons, swim lessons, soccer class, VBS, swimming x 3 days, chuck e cheese, the mall, Church, McDonalds, etc... etc... etc.... Boy, were they busy...
Here's a BIG THANK YOU to Nanny for watching our precious one's. They already are missing you.

Cruise Highlights

Family Reunion

My Dad comes from a family of nine kids, that's right NINE!!! He is right in the middle with 4 older and 4 younger.
When each sibling has turned the big 6-0, they have held a family reunion in honor of that individual. This year was my Dad's 60th, so we had our family reunion on a 4 night Cozumel Cruise.

Five out of the Nine were able to make it... Here is Don, Loretta, Dad, Marie and Walt.

Here is Dad with 3 of his 4 kids... Sue couldn't make it.
(me, Tom Jr, Dad, Jen)

And here is everyone that made it for the reunion.
Fun, Fun, Fun times.
Happy 60th Dad!!!

Missing Teeth

Lincoln lost his 1st and 2nd tooth this week!!! His 1st tooth came out while Ron and I were driving home from our vacation. He was at McDonald's with Nanny!!
Tooth Fairy brought him $5.00 for each. He already went and bought a new Game Boy Game!! Lincoln is too "practical" to believe in the tooth fairy... He tells me that he thinks it is Mommy that comes in the middle of the night and puts stuff under his pillow. That Lincoln!!!

Bring on the Guests

I've been known to pout about not having anyone come visit me.

No pouting for me this summer!!

Starting tomorrow we have a string of visitors coming, back to back, with some overlap...

Tomorrow we have Nanny (MIL) coming from NY, then Lauren (LaLa, my niece) from Houston, then we have Uncle Moses (Ron's brother) coming in for a week from New York, Then my BFF from San Antonio: Gina Wilson and her 2 kiddo's will be here for a couple of days, next we have Grammy (my mom) coming from Houston for her birthday present.

Bring on the Guests!!!

Let me know if anyone else wants to come visit!!!

Front Yard, Progress

We are having progress in our front yard makeover.
Under the arbor, there is a beautiful rock flagstone walkway, with steps.
On the right of the arbor, you will see a "huge" wooden enclosed flower bed, driveway is widened with rocks... And on the side's of the mailbox... those will be planters with roses.
I guess we are about half way through... Ron has been working hard!!!

Bag of Ice Cream

The boys and I made some homemade ice cream in a bag today. We tried Family Fun's recipe. There is a great video on the Family Fun website, that you can watch and follow the steps.
We added blueberries, coconut, and banana's as our toppings in order to make it a more healthier snack.

Our conclusion was that even though it was fun, and yummy, it was A LOT of work for just a little icecream!!!

I've decided that we should invest in an ice cream machine.

RECIPE INGREDIENTS:

2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup half and half
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup salt (The bigger the granules, the better. Kosher or rock salt works best, but table salt is fine.)
Ice cubes (enough to fill each gallon-size bag about half full)
1 pint-size ziplock bag
1 gallon-size ziplock bag

1. Combine the sugar, half and half, and vanilla extract in the pint-size bag and seal it tightly.
2. Place the salt and ice in the gallon-size bag, then place the sealed smaller bag inside as well. Seal the larger bag. Now shake the bags until the mixture hardens (about 5 minutes). Feel the small bag to determine when it's done.
3. Take the smaller bag out of the larger one, add mix-ins, and eat the ice cream right out of the bag. Easy cleanup too! Serves 1.

2nd (and last) day of art camp

Today was Picasso Art Camp.
Here is Lawson and his Picasso inspired artwork.

Excuse the Mess

Our entire front yard is in the midst of a complete makeover. It's like a huge construction zone this week. You can't tell it right now, but we are hoping for yard of the year! (btw, we our neighborhood doesn't have yard of the year, but we can dream, right?)
I'm hoping that within the week I'll be posting an "after" picture!!! Meanwhile, excuse our mess.

Art Camp

n

Lawson got to go to Art House camp today. The camp was on Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky.
Lawson remembers that there is "silly in his 1st name..." lol
He came back with this decorated box and some artwork. The teacher complimented his patience, listening skills, manners, etc... There were 6 three year olds at a table with the instructor, and had to sit there focused for 1.5 hrs. That's a lot for a 3 yr old!!! Lawson liked it, and is looking forward to another camp tomorrow. Tomorrow's will be about Picasso.

We tailgaited in a nearby field.
We had the view of TWO shows going on: Flower Mound and Grapevine.
Boys loved it.
