Lincoln's First Report Card!!

Sick Lawson

No wonder Lawson hasn't been feeling well.... He has stinkin PNEMONIA.... Poor thing. He is in high spirits though, just a bit cranky and a horribly yucky sounding cough.... We will treat with 10 days of antibiotics and daily breathing treatments with the nebulizer. He's not contageous. He will have another chest xray in 3 weeks to make sure it's cleared up....Please pray for fast healing and a full recovery of his lungs.

Sue Sue

During the visit, Sue Sue had to endure:

changing multiple "yucky" diapers, she was slapped in the face by one and gobbled up on the face by the other, witnessed the sibling rivalry, had to blow some pretty explosive runny noses, put 10 layers of underpants on Lawson bc he wanted them, Lawson covered head to toe in pudding, cheerios everywhere, had to read Lincoln the longest bedtime story ever, suffered not just one but two park experiences where both boys were needy for all her attention, had her hair chewed on, had to listen to me coughing all night long, dealt with the infamous Dallas traffic...... just to name a few things..... Think she will be back anytime soon?????? Probably...

Christmas Coffee Cake

Sue wanted this recipe of a coffee cake I made while she was here. She wanted to bring it to a brunch at school. So, just in case anyone else wants to try it....

Christmas Coffee Cake

1 box white cake mix
1 small package instant vanilla pudding
4 eggs
1 1/2 cup sour cream
2 tsp vanilla

Mix on Medium speed for 5 minutes

Prepare the following:
3/4 cup sugar
2 tsp cocoa
2 tsp cinnamon

Grease a bundt pan very well, pour 1/2 of batter in pan, sprinkle sugar mixture, then dump the rest of the batter in pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. Allow cake to completely cool before removing from pan, then sprinkle powdered sugar on top.... Enjoy.

Bye Bye Visitors

My older sister, Sue, and my nephew Matthew have come and gone. Pictures to follow. They arrived late Friday night, and on Saturday we all went to watch Lincoln play T-Ball. Then Ron took Matthew and Lincoln to the STATE FAIR. Lincoln had a great time, while Auntie Sue Sue and I stayed at home and played with Lawson, who was a bit under the weather. For dinner, Matthew and Ron grilled out some beef and chicken Fajita's. The boys watched Nascar, while the rest of us got to bed early. This morning, Ron and Matthew went to Home Depot and worked on a quick project while Sue and I took the bikes and the boys to the duck pond and park. Sue mentioned something about the boys completely wearing her out..... She said she isn't used to all that activity.... She also said that I do the dishes more than anyone she knows....
Sue and Matthew spoiled the boys, and Lawson learned to say Sue Sue after he called her Ya Ya.... And yes, he was looking for Sue Sue all night before he went to bed!!

Good Hit

Lincoln had a game tonight. Here is a video (press play) of one of his hits. He almost took a detour on the way to 1st base. He wanted to get into the action. You see in Tball they don't know how to be a "team" yet, so when the ball is hit to outfield, sometimes all the boys run to the ball and there is a pileup fighting for the ball. The parents all crack up.

COUSINS

This is the New York Clan. These two boys are Lincoln's and Lawson's only cousins on Rons side of the family. (Nanny has 4 grandsons, and is waiting for her 1st granddaughter....)

Joanna and the boys have moved back to Upstate New York, so we are looking forward to spending time with the boys when we visit NY next. Tristan in the front is only 2 months older than Lincoln. They have the most hilarious phone conversations but haven't met in person yet. This pic was taken at Tristan's bday party this week, turned 4.

Moist Garlic Chicken

This was my new dish tonight. It was simple, and Ron mentioned that it was the best thing I ever cooked, so I thought I'd share... You have to like garlic to like this dish.

Moist Garlic Chicken
(Easy and delicious)

1/3 cup butter or marg (melted)
2 garlic cloves or equivalent, minced
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup finely shredded cheddar cheese
2 T grated parmesan cheese
dash of pepper
3 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into halves

In a shallow bowl, combine the melted butter, garlic powder, and salt. In another bowl, combing breadcrumbs, cheeses, and pepper.
Dip chicken and saturate in butter mixture, then coat with as much crumb mixture as possible.
Place in a greased casserole dish. Cover with lid OR Foil and bake at 350 degree's for 45-50 minutes, making sure juices run clear.

Random Thoughts

This week, Lincoln has a Tball game Thurs night, Saturday morning, then again on Monday night. That is 3 games in like 4 days, doesn't that sound like a lot. But that's ok, he loves it, and we all love going to watch him...

AND Good News: Auntie Sue Sue and Cousin Matthew will be here this weekend, and are going to the game on Saturday morning...

Guess what? We are getting a DVR tomorrow, after me talking about doing this for a year and a half. This is going to change our TV watching world. From what I hear (from those that have this) this is pretty amazing. No more missing shows, watching what we want when we want, no more commercials....

I went to the DR again yesterday for this annoying cough. More meds, steriod shot you know where, Z pack, hope this gets better. Dr mentioned possibilities of allergies gone wild, asthma, or whooping cough.... All I want is a good nights sleep, I'm having flashbacks of the sleep deprivation that comes with a newborn.
