Our Addition

Someone requested an updated picture of Ron's project: The addition to our home. It's coming along!! He's been working on it all day and hopefully tomorrow. The weather is actually very nice, and this helps.
Took the boys to Lifetime to get out of his way for awhile. They were both at the window trying to get out and get his attention!! So, we up the the gym for 2 hours while mommy could workout, sit in the sauna, and shower. The boys played hard in the child center, and came home ready for their nap.
Tonight, we will have Emily (Lincoln's buddy) over for the evening while her parents attend a gala. Finally, we get to reciprocate.... They have watched the boys a lot for us.

Ma Ma

Today, Lawson looked up at me with those big blue eyes, huge smile, reached out and touched my face and said MA MA. It was so sweet, I'll never forget that, it made me tear up!! I love you Lawson!!

Sitting Chair

had to do this. Can you tell that they are brothers? Lincoln is on the right, playing under the chair at the same age as Lawson is now. Lawson on left..... This is a fun chair!!

Our Family Pet

Boy, Lawson REALLY loves watching our kitty, Justice. We think we may get a small dog soon. We have always wanted a King Charles Spaniel. The boys would just love to have another pet!! Question is, can mommy keep up with it?? I guess Lincoln is getting old enough to take some of the responsibilities.

On another note, to clear up any confusion, I am NOT pregnant again!! This was confirmed today by 2 pregnancy tests!! It was funny that we got so many comments about me being pregnant, because Ron and I were both convinced that I was as well. We do want a third, but that would have been WAY too soon!!

Busy Lawson

That's right, Lawson points the remote to the TV and pushes the buttons. Where do they learn these things??

Lawson has discovered Lincoln's old favorite hiding place: under the skirt of the chair. He likes to sit under the chair and play peek a boo...

Lawson like's to ride on his ride on toys. This was taken last night as we were waiting for Daddy to get home.

Daddy's finally home!! HI DADDY!!

The Impact of Your Name

If you are interested in the name story from 20/20 I mentioned in the past, read a transcript here: It's kind of long, so you can skim through it to get the general idea but pay special attention to the very end!!

Silly Lincoln

Today, Lincoln wanted his bear "Brownie" to eat breakfast with him in the drawer of the kitchen table. This bear was mine when I was younger, made by Grandma Gulgren. Lincoln has been carrying it around for a couple of days....

Other randomness:
1. Made some banana bread today with Lincoln's help, intead of the cinnamon rolls: will try again later. The banana bread thankfully turned out!!

2. Decided to post 6 item's on ebay. Just to try it out, and see if I can sell a few things I had laying around...

3. Both boys doing great, happy and fun to be around today...

Twins

I had a first today: While shopping at Kroger, a man asked me if the boys were twins.......

NO cinnamon rolls for us!!

OK, the first batch of dough did not rise. So, I made a whole new batch, which didn't turn out either. It rose, but there was something wrong with the consistency and it was just separating and sticking everywhere: it would not roll out...
SO, I'm not going to give up until I make these cinnamon rolls right. Now I am really craving them!!

It's official

It's official, I'm old. I heard a long time ago, once you get your own rolling pin, you are officially not young anymore. Needless to say, I have avoided buying a rolling pin over these past several years (except for the miniature one Courtney L gave me as a joke).
Today I purchased my VERY OWN rolling pin!! I am trying to make homemade from scratch cinnamon rolls, recipe from my mom.....

It was great!!

I can't believe how awesome my spa day was. The Gaylord Texan is absolutely amazing. My spa package included a massage, facial, and hair treatment. My friend treated me to a delicious steak and lobster dinner there, it was incredible!! We relaxed in our room last night, rented a movie, and then slept in this morning. It was wonderful, I feel like a new person!! I really needed that!!
Everything went well with Ron and the boys, but he said he was glad I was back. I was gone almost 24 hours, so he got a good feel for my responsibilities!! I did really start missing the boys this morning.....
Busy week ahead...

Tom and Bristol

Tom and Bristol, isn't this a great picture??

I'm off to my spa getaway. I'm getting cold feet about leaving (the boys), but I'm still going to go and I'm sure I'll be fine when I get there!!

Lawson Update

Finally put a cute picture in this cute frame for Lawson's room.
Cousins Bristol and Lawson....

Most of you know about Lawson's spitting up/vomiting problem. In fact, a majority of you have been initiated by it. I think Aunt Jen has gotten it the worse. She came to stay for a few days and had used up all her clothes from having to change so much.... I remember we all took a walk to the park, and by the time we came home, Lawsons, Jen's, and my clothes were all 3 completely soaked with spit up. Of course we didn't have a change of clothes with us. I know that he got just about everyone on our trip to NY, especially Nanny and Ray Ray. Out of friends, I think Darla got it the worse out at her pool: covering just about every part of her body: Sorry!!
HOWEVER, the GOOD news is that this is getting A LOT better. In fact, he only spits up every couple of days now, compared to about 10 times between each feeding. So, now everyone can hold Lawson without the fear of what may come.....

PS: Great day for us all today, including Ron. Lincoln did great at gymnastics. Meanwhile Lawson played with 2 other babies who had older siblings in Lincoln's class. All 3 babies are just weeks apart in age, so it's nice that they can play together each week while the class is going on. Afterwords, we met Debbie T and her 2 yr old son, and Darla and Emily at our favorite place, Chuck E Cheese. I managed to wear them both out after almost 3 hours of running around there. There is even a place for Lawson to play/climb. While the boys took a long nap, I got ton's of things done around the house. Then right as I was getting ready to make dinner, Ron called and told me that we would all go out to dinner. Boys did great at the restaurant.... Came home swung outside, Lincoln drove around in the motorized car that UNCLE TOM gave him (he is really enjoying that right now!!), came inside for both to take a bath then bedtime. Great day!!
Plan on running errands in the am tomorrow and going to the gym in the afternoon. This weekend is my spa get away.

Wednesday, September 27

Wednesday, again, already

Lincoln decided to sit in the drawer this morning to read his books... He was nice and cozy in there. He even got to eat his breakfast there, lucky boy....
He really has been quite the conversationalist lately, it's very entertaining. I love this age!!

I love this age, too!!

Lawson digging into the toys in the armoire.

Wow, this week has just flown by, it seem's as if Wednesday was just here. We had an incredible day, just perfect. Had bible study this morning, then grabbed a bite to eat with Darla and her sister. Went to see the financial advisor about the boy's college funds. Tomorrow is gymnastics.

January 2006

This was an ordinary day of life at home when Lawson came home from the hospital. He LOVED being in front of the fireplace. It was his favorite spot to be. It was so nice to go lay down in front of the fire and just play with both of the boys. Remember, this is when Ron was already working in Dallas and we were still in Houston. (I don't remember Lincoln's hair being so short...)

This is Lawson at just one week old. I always thought he was so incredibly cute. And he even got cuter!!

Just home from the hospital. He looks so alert already. Click on the picture for a larger view.

This picture is taken at home when I was on the way to the hospital to have Lawson. The roses were for my 3rd year anniversary, which was January 4th (lawson born on the 6th)

For those of you that didn't get to see Lawson as a newborn, or that don't remember, here are a few old pictures.
He was 7 pounds 15 oz (Lincoln was 8 pounds 10 oz), but he also came 2 weeks early and Lincoln came over a week late. They were the same length. They really looked totally different as babies.

Pink Convertible

Did anyone else hear about the 3 year old that purchased a pink convertible?? This is TOTALLY something Lincoln is capable of doing. I guess we need to monitor him surfing the web.
Check out this story. LOL

Three-year-old buys pink convertible on eBay
Tue Sep 26, 8:50 AM ET
Jack Neal briefly became the proud owner of a pink convertible car after he managed to buy it for 9,000 pounds ($17,000) on the Internet despite being only three years old.
Jack's mother told the BBC she had left her password for the eBay auction site in her computer and her son used the "buy it now" option to complete the purchase.
"Jack's a whiz on the PC and just pressed all the right buttons," Rachel Neal said.
The seller of the second-hand car, a dealer from Worcestershire, central England, was amused by the bid and agreed not to force the sale through.
"Luckily he saw the funny side and said he would re-advertise," Neal said.
