Birthday Party

Emily's 4 year old birthday party was yesterday at Excite Party Zone. The boys had a blast. Lawson mostly enjoyed sitting in this bucket playing with balls.

Lincoln was jumping, climbing, hanging, swinging, sliding, bouncing on whatever he could find!!

I Scream

For you fellow ice cream lovers out there, you have to try the new
Blue Bell Flavor that just came out.
Missippi Mud Cake
For some reason, my whole side of the family has this addiction to Blue Bell ice cream....
Tom, Sue, and Jen: You HAVE to try this one!!

Sunday, November 19

Sunny Sunday

Another Great, Great weekend here for the Flower Mound G's. Great weather, great family time, just great all around.

Lincoln had a bowl of ice cream tonight, and he asked Ron to cut it for him. (cut ice cream??) But, being the good daddy ron is, he took a knife and fork and cut the ice cream for him.

We saved 60.00 today on the grocery game. Yeah, Christmas money!!

Did some garage-saling. Got bunch of things to sell on ebay, some already sold.... Got the boys a new bike with training wheels, Fisher Price, never used for a whopping $2.00. We already got our 2 dollars worth: they have been playing with it all weekend. Love those deals!!!!

Nephew Matthew will be turning 16 this month. WOW, where has the time gone. Remember when he was Lincoln's age: couldn't get enough of him. I ALWAYS wanted to play with him!!

Looking forward to this holiday week. Ron will work only 2 days, WOW!! Lincoln has his gymnastics camp tomorrow, 9-12: drop off. That will give me some time to get ready for the holiday. Tuesday, we will go see an ice scultpture exhibit with the Wueste's.

Dad's Scarf...

Dad said that the only scarf he wears still is the one I made him when I was 10. DAD, I promise that I will make you a new (and much better) scarf. What color would you like???

Earlier Today

Mom, can I eat this leaf??

I have a feeling this may be one of his last "crawling" pictures. He is really taking steps now, and he seems so focussed to learn to walk.... Not much longer now...

Blankie

In my spare time (lol), one of my hobbie's (now) is crocheting blankets. I used to crochet when I was very young. In fact, I was about 10 when I made my Dad a brown scarf that I've seen him still wear occasionally.

This blanket I made for Lawson when he was 1st born. It is just a small "lovey". He actually sleeps with every night, he cuddles his face up to it. This blanket does not leave the house, because I am famous for losing their mostest favortite blankies.....

This is a "before" picture of the blanket I am now making for the boys. It will be the size of a throw. I think this blanket will take me about a year to make, since I only do one row every night before bed. This type of thing I absolutely can not do unless they are both sound asleep. Anyway, I will post the after picture when it is done in about a year from now!! (I may surprise us all, I have a thing about not having any pending projects...) When I get insomnia, I read or crochet (or get on the computer!!)

PBS

It's ABOUT time PBS decided to be included "on Demand". This is life changing for us. Now we can watach all those educational shows for the kids at the touch of a fingertip. You see, here in Dallas Sesame Street comes on at 11:00, which 99% of time we are NOT home at 11:00. So, since we moved here Lincoln has watched it about 3 times. Now, we can watch it when ever we want!! In Houston, it came on at 7:30am which was perfect to wake up to.

So on that note, Lincoln is in my bed under the covers eating popcorn and watching Sesame Street on our TV, while I had to wrap up some ebay sales.... (who would have known that there are 8 people out there that desperately want my old shower curtain that has been sitting in my linen closet for 5 yrs.....)

WELCOME BACK RON!!! Ron will return momentaritly from a 2 night trip to Des Moine, Iowa. Yeah, we missed him!!

Another Poll

Ron was joking with Lincoln and told him it looked like he had a mop on his head.
So for several days afterwards Lincoln tells everyone who will listen to him, "
I have a mop on my head", "my daddy says so".
So, this brings me to my poll of the day....

Chop or Stay???
Is Lincoln getting too old for these long curls?
Or should we keep them?
Let me know in one word: chop or stay

Friday Funnies

Have you ever wondered why you are supposed to put a bumper in the crib?
Well, here is a visual. Had to wash the bumper today, so when I checked on
Lawson during his nap just now, this is what I found. Ouch! But he sure looked comfy!!

So, I hear this banging and strange noises and I think, what is Lincoln getting into. I go into the kitchen and this is what I find. Lincoln sitting at the table, he had gotten a large pan, a strainer, a cake box, and chocolate chips. I asked him what he was making and he said "a cake". I asked him what kind of cake, and he said "a blue one".

I thought the funniest part was that he was actually "reading" the instructions on the back of the cake box. I guess he always see's mommy doing this, I follow these things to a tee....

Thunder Thursday

Great Thursday Today.

Gymanstics went well, Coach Jack was out today so that really confused Lincoln. We will be having Lincoln's birthday party where he goes to gymnastics, so if you are interested in coming in town December 1oth, let me know and I'll get you the details!!

After Gymnastics, we met friends Debbie T, Ben, Darla and Emily at Chuck E Cheese for pizza and lots and lots of playtime!!

Mommy took a nap today, wow that felt great!!

Next door neighbors invited us over for taco dinner tonight. I've got to go make some cookies real quick to bring over (real quick, I have those frozen fundraiser cookies in the freezer, love those!!)

A friend of mine's mother passed away last night after a long battle with cancer. Please keep Nichole Stone and her family in your prayers.

Idea's

I am in need of a new more creative name for my blog. Cynthia G just isn't doing it anymore. Any suggestions???

Some People Don't Understand

I can't believe this!! Click on this to read the story:

Woman kicked off plane for breast-feeding baby

Do you know how many times I have nursed my boys on the plane? Do you know how mortifying it would have been for me to be kicked off the plane???

Good Bye Ole Friend....

Lawson has gone 4 whole days now without his paci, so we are going to make them all disappear. Easier now then later. He just isn't interested in it, and throws it on the ground. Don't want to force the issue!!

On another note, Lawson is taking his first few steps. He can stand, bend over to pick something up, stand back up, and he has been taking up to 3 steps. He does it so carefully and so thought out. It won't be long before he is walking, and we sure aren't pushing it. He'll do it in his own time!!

Lawson got tooth 4, so now he has 2 on top and 2 on bottom.

Still waiting for more hair to come in to see if it will be straight or curly (I'm still going for curly and ron straight...)

Big BIrd

Request for Lincoln's completed stuffed Big Bird. He choose a red fleece vest and big boy underpants for him to wear..... He has been carried around ever since bringing him home.

Favor

Ok, I have a request.
Can one of you, doesn't matter who, start a family blog?
I promise it only takes 5 minutes to set the WHOLE thing up.
Then it takes just a couple of minutes for each entry.
I just really wish I could talk to someone else about the blog, like, compare things, ask questions like how do you download pics in order, etc...
I REALLY would like to READ a blog, and not just write one.
My only option right now is to read total strangers blogs.
I don't know anyone who has one.
SO, Please please please someone else start one. It's so much fun, and such an easy way to keep everyone updated on your life.
It's also such a good way to document your children's milestones, I print off my entries in order to keep for them.
Ok, that's it.

Build a Bear

Some Highlights of our day at Build A Bear, and Grapevine Mills Mall. Out of order, of course, haven't figured that out yet. At Build a Bear, they pick out which animal they want to make, stuff it, put in a heart that they have made a wish with, put in a voice box, give it a bath, pick out clothes to wear, and make a birth certificate. FUN!!
Emily and Lincoln giving thier animals a bath before putting clothes on them.

Lincoln pushing the pedal that puts in the stuffing. "wow, cool, neat" he says... By the way, he picked out a Big Bird to make and Emily picked out a Pink Poodle.

Lawson playing in a bear's car....

Lincoln giving the heart a kiss and making a wish before it is put inside the bear. He took this really seriously, wonder what he wished for...

Playing with the Burger King happy meal toy's....Penguins.

Lawson playing on the computer, I guess he takes after his brother...

The final product!! The animals got "homes" out of boxes.

What a Sight we were going through the mall....

Tomorrow's Plan

We will be taking Emily to Build a Bear tomorrow for her birthday present. She and Lincoln will be able to make their own furry friends to bring home and love. Her birthday party is on Sunday.
If you have no idea what build a bear is, check out the website at:
www.buildabear.com
Of course, Pics will be taken and posted...

Thanks, comments

Thank You Mom (Geri Robinson) for keeping up with our blog, and for all your special "comments". Keep them coming, we like to here your feedback!! Can't wait for your visit next month...

I love this kid, too

Loved the shots I took earlier of Lincoln,
so I propped Lawson up on the table to
see what would happen..... Cute....

My little Pilgrim and my MOPS "spa day"

Our little pilgrim eating his lunch, as Kirby is there just waiting for any drop to fall. Lincoln made the Pilgrim hat at Moppets today, and has been wearing it ever since.

Today at MOPS, we had a surprise "pampering spa day". Good timing, I needed that!! We had lip masks, hand and cuticle exfoliation, foot massage, quiet room, crafts, speaker on nutricion, Smoothies, lot's of yummy food, coffee, door prizes, lot's and lot's of free samples of things.... As you can see, MOPS was a good thing for me today!!

Future Beethoven??

Lawson has discovered how to play the piano, which is one of his favorite things to do these days. He actually puts together what sounds like music!!

I love this kid!!

Love Language

Do you know what your love language is?
Do you know what your spouse's love language is?

Ron and I did the testing to find out what love languages we both are. Now we are in the process of reading The Five Love Languages together. I highly recommend this book, it's great to find out how to communicate better just by knowing how your spouse thinks differently than you do.

This book is also christian based.

The author is Gary Chapman, and his website is www.fivelovelanguages.com

It is also beneficial to find out what love language your children are. Lincoln is "Words of Affirmation".

The Boy's

This is what the boys are doing right now behind me as I am working on the computer. A little rough housing before bedtime. Speaking of bedtime, I'm going to put them down....

KAREN: Kirby is 6 months and FULL grown.
And we have this big poll as to whether Lawson is going to have curls. I think yes and Ron thinks no. Too soon to tell, Lincolns didn't come out until after he turned one.... You can join the poll and let me know what you think!!

Dining Room

Preview of the NEW wood floor Ron worked so hard to put in. Yes, the flowers are for me for all my hard work this week!! For all of you that enlarge the pictures, Jen and Reaah, please ignore all the dust on the floor: we have yet to dust and polish it up. It looked horrible in this pic but I had to post it bc it was so cute of Lincoln smelling the flowers....

Lincoln in Gymnastics

Here are a couple of shots from Lincoln's gymnastics today. I haven't

been able to take many b/c my hands are always full with Lawson, and also I don't want to be distracting to the class...

As I have said before, Gymnastics is one of the highlights of his week. This is Coach Jared helping him, and you will see his hero coach Jack on the right.

The other picture is Lincoln waiting patiently for his turn...

Bean Bag Boy

While Lincoln is taking his gymnastics class, Lawson likes to go into the media movie room and crawl all over these huge bean bags. He has so much fun, as you can see....

Lincoln's Buddy

This is Lincoln's sad face when I told him that Kirby couldn't come with us today to Bible Study.

This is where I found Lincoln today watching Go Diego Go. He wants to take the puppy with him everywhere during the day.
"Mommy I love Kirby SOO much, hes my mostest favorite in the whole world" "Mommy, do you love Kirby too?" "Kirby loves me mommy"
Lincoln is in charge of all the puppy feedings. He has done all the water and food refills. Next we need to teach him poopy duty...

Lollipop Boys

Please look at these picture's in Reverse Order, I can not figure out how to post in the right order.... But start at the bottem one first. You should be able to tell what is going on here!!

#4: YUMMY, Lawson's first lollipop taste....

#3: Mommy tells Lincoln to share with his brother and let him taste it.....

#2: Lincoln says nnnnnnnoooooo

#1: Lawson looks at Lincoln with such an intense desire to taste his lollipop....

What we don't see here in pictures is what happened right after this. Mommy had to put down the camera to intervene. Lawson liked the lollipop so much, he stood up and pushed Lincoln's chest until Lincoln was on the ground. Lawson crawled right on top of him and grabbed the pop right away. Watch out Lincoln, your little brother is VERY VERY strong....

By the way, for those of you that enlarge the pictures (Reaah) that welt on the side of Lawson's head is a mosquito bite. May be allergic, when he gets bit they turn into these huge welts. Got this one last night playing outside..

Lincoln won't be promoted from a car seat to a booster seat anytime soon, like we were considering.
Watch this, and have a Kleenex ready. (It's almost 4 minutes long, so watch it when you that extra time)

Brave Warrior

In just five days we officially declare a time to honor all those who have served our great country. Veteran's Day is meaningful to many as they reflect back on those who have given great sacrifice in return for the blanket of freedom that surrounds us.

Today, as I walked the halls of Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) it was amazing to me how many of these men were smiling and high spirited despite their peril condition. I hope and pray that their sacrifices continues to sustain our freedom and our way of life.

The reason for the visit was to check on the status of one of our very own. Daniel was on a security patrol in Iraq when his convoy had to make a deviation off of the hardball and immediately ran over a buried landmine with his HUMVEE. Daniel has quite the story to tell of the events that followed. As he recalled the incident he seemed stronger and more focused than one would imagine after suffering from such a traumatic experience. His determination to return to his comrades is his only goal as he attends the immediate need of recovery. He appeared very healthy and spoke highly of the level of treatment he had received both State-side and in Germany. He did mention that Iraq is extremely HOT and that prior to the incident he had lost weight from just being in the environment. Daniel is expected to have a full recovery and our thoughts and prayers will follow him as he continues his quest.

Ron Geri

Welcome Back Lawsy

Lawson seems to be back 100% himself. Today was SO much easier with him feeling better. Lot's of smiles and cuddles!!

Laws, Linc, and myself all had FLU shots today.

Took the BOYS and Kirby to the park, it was 70 degree's. Very nice...

Ron flew to san antonio to visit his cousin Daniel, he should be home soon.

Getting ready to see who the prince chooses tonight!! (lawson is asleep and Lincoln is playing with his moon sand...)
No man is poor who has a godly mother
(Abraham Lincoln)

Prayer Request

Please help us pray for a speedy recovery for Ron's cousin Daniel Varner. He is 20 years old, this is his 2nd year in the Army, and has been serving in Iraq. He and his team of four were attacked by a bomb after driving over it. The driver was his sergeant, who was killed. Daniel was ejected from the army vehicle, and experienced some severe burns. Thankfully he survived but is recovering in a burn unit on a base in San Antonio. Ron hopes to fly into SA to visit him. Keep him in your prayers, I may not have all the details right. Daniel is Debbie's (Rons mom) brothers son, they live in upstate NY....

WOW

W.O.W. Things on Wysteria Lane are really heating up. I thought tonights show was the best one yet. So, if you missed out tonight, I suggest watching it online tomorrow at abc.com, free download. It was REALLY good!!

Darla's Beauties...

Someone asked for a recent pic of Darla's girls. These are their school pictures, Ashley age 13 and Emily age almost 4... They are so cute.... and such good kids!!

Sad urday

OK, we are a little sad about our munchin still be under the weather. BUT, he does seem to be feeling a bit better. Dr changed him to soy formula while he isn't feeling well, and boy does he love that stuff!! he is drinking twice as much formula, and eating less solids.... Keep him and Lincoln in your prayers that they remain healthy over the winter. I really hope we don't have one of those winters where they are both always sick and passing it to each other. We have our FLU shots on Monday.

Ron completed a large project today. He tore out the carpet in the formal dining room and laid real hard woods. It took him the whole day to complete, he had one of his workers here to help out. It looks GREAT!! Will post pics when furniture is all back in place. We plan on doing all rooms in hard wood one by one except the living room which has a nice Berber carpet. Study is next and then the boys rooms.... Can't wait, we dislike our carpet. And I vacuum at least once, mostly twice a day.... Yuck....

We got out of Ron's way, and went up to Grapevine Mills Mall. I have never been to a mall that was so crowded as it was tonight. It seemed like it was Christmas Eve or something. I walked into the Gap thinking I'd buy myself a sweater. I couldn't even get the stroller in there: there were at least a million mad people in there, and as you looked around all the clothes were thrown off the shelves and on the floor.... I'll go back during the week where me and the other moms have the whole quiet place to ourselves!!

We did manage to get Lincoln's hair cut, buy him 2 jeans, throw in coins to the alligators at Rainforest Cafe, Wave hello and give the real Hello Kitty a hug: it's her birthday you know, share one sugar cookie between all three of us, and make it around a complete circle..... Oh yeah, and Lincoln's highlight was watching the turtle's, mice, and hermit crabs at the mall kiosk....

Ron and I ordered in Sushi and watched some TV..... Great Saturday... Heading to church in the am...

Our Cowboy

Another picture of a picture. This was the professional pic I chose of Lawson. I think it turned out cute, I'm going to look for a western themed frame to put it in....

Oh. What. A. Day

Wow!! It's hard when you have a little one who isn't feeling well. Lawson has been sick for a few days, again, so we spent the day at the dr's. He had to go to a lab to get an x-ray done on his tummy, which turned out fine. Anyway, hope he starts feeling better soon!!

Lincoln woke up grumpy, so to cheer him up, we made cinnamon rolls while we danced around the kitchen to the Wiggle's!!

Had a great dinner out last night at the Melting Pot. Want to take Ron there on our next childless date.

Kirby hasn't had an indoor accident in 5 days, so that's great. And I bought him some rawhide chew type things that have been a lifesaver for me: he has been wanting to chew up everything: shoe's, books, toys, phones, whatever he can find: so these chew toys he has been chewing on only all day so that helps.

I'm just not a dog person. Honestly, taking care of Kirby is way more time consuming than taking care of Lawson. So if you are thinking about getting a puppy, it may just be easier to have a baby! Jen wasn't a dog person either, and she said it took her 4-6 weeks to stop wondering if she did the right thing, and now she is a dog person and even wants another!! So, I'm giving it my best shot just like everything. He is so sweet and cute, but it's just a lot of work.... I've never had a dog before so it's all new to me....

Britol's 1st Holloween

How cute is this??? Bristol (my neice) had fun on her 1st Holloween. I love her costume!!
Courtney: I can resell that for you on ebay if you want!!

Random Info

1. Lawson got tooth #3, one of his top ones. Boy, did he ever have a hard time getting that through!!

2. Lawson said his 1st word, besides MAMA and DADA. It is nnnnnnoo. Funny that his 1st word is no, it makes me think how many times he has heard this in his short lifetime. Lincoln is always telling him nnnooo, mommy and daddy are always telling Lincoln nnnoooo, and now we are always telling Kirby nnnnoooo. So, now it is so cute b/c Lawson concentrates so hard and says nnnnnnnno. Thats an emphasis on dragging out the n. Now when Lincoln tells him no, he says no back, and he also now tells Kirby nnnnnnoo when he is bothering him.... Very cute!!

3. Tonight is my dinner out with the other Dallas Moms: Cara, Debbie Tucker (Taylor), Darla. We are going for fondue at the Melting Pot. Never been, looking forward to it. It's been a tough week, it will be nice to get out.

Group Shot

Here is our Holloween Group Shot. This pic was taken after our trick or treating adventure, in our front yard. The piglet is boy #3 (Reaah), our next door neighbor, Patrick. He is almost 2 and they just had a baby boy 2 weeks ago. Patrick is almost 2 and weighs one pound less than Lawson!! He is so tiny!!
