Swing Batter Batter Sweeeing

Lawson has started T-ball!!! He is on The Rangers, which is the same team Lincoln was on when he was 3-4. Lawson is a natural, he has a great arm. Loves to hit, throw, and catch. And takes the whole thing very seriously. It was awesome to watch him at practice today, he definitely has that competitive side.

More Back to School Pics

Lincoln waiting for the bus this am, with all the pretty girls.

Bye Bye Lincoln. See you in EIGHT hours. sniff sniff

This is how worn out they were last night. It was only about 6pm. We had just gotten back from getting ice cream at Baskin Robbins... I don't know why they were almost asleep in the foyer!

Playing together when Lincoln got home. Lawson missed his Bubby.

PS: Why are my pictures coming out "grainy" looking when I put them on my blog?

Preggers Update

Here's some answers to some questions I have gotten and haven't responded.

Were we trying to have another baby, or was this a surprise?
Yes, we wanted to have baby #3. Ron and I both always wanted a large family and we knew we weren't "complete" yet with just the 2. About a year ago, we were totally certain that we were done. However, we quickly changed our minds.

Will we find out the gender?
Yes, of course!!! No need for all that extra anxiety. I like to plan/prepare, and I think it helps to "bond" with your baby if you can start calling "it" a he/she.
Of course, each is own, I know plenty of moms/dad that aren't finding out. So for those out there, I'm keeping the gender a secret from you (since you like surprises). Just kidding.

Are we hoping for a girl or boy?
No preference. I definitely will be happy with 3 boys!!! A girl would be nice, too. But I think we win either way at this point. (I have this secret hope that I am having twins...) (and, no, twins don't run in either side of our family)

How am I feeling?
Not too bad. Yet. Hopefully this pregnancy will be easier on me than the 1st two. No vomitting yet, just a bit queezy. And boy, have I been hungry. It feels like I am always starving, and I never get full. If this keeps up, I'm going to gain a ton of weight. (45lbs with Lincoln, 19 with Lawson).

Big Yellow Bus

Lincoln rode the bus to school today!! He has been excited about the possibility of some day riding the bus for 2 years now. He ran on the bus all smiles this morning, and he thinks it is cool that you don't have to wear a seatbelt!

Waiting for the bus, it comes at 7:25am. (Lawson was still asleep)

Lucky misses Lincoln when he is gone!

Yesterday when I picked him up, waiting in the pickup line.

Lincoln's 1st day of Kinder. Sniff *** Sniff***
He had a full nights sleep and 2 breakfast's, so he was ready to go!!
I think Lawson is a little sad, and I'm freaking out just a little bit.
Can't wait to pick him up and hear from him how it was.

Gina's Visit to the Big D

Wow, some more pictures I stole off of Facebook. This is when my buddy Gina came for a visit from SA to Dallas: We went swimming at the Flower Mound Pool.
Emily and Darla, me and boys, Gina and Emma & Christopher.
(Looks like Gina found out how to get the pictures from her camera onto the computer, and then on FB. I'm impressed!)

Here is a picture of our our college sorority Dallas get together when Gina was here. (We all went to UTSA and were AOII's) Besides Gina, we all live here in Dallas and get together for a dinner out every couple of months)
Darla, Me, Cara, Gina, Debbie
Uncle Julio's Restaurant
(Cara is moving away, sniff sniff)

Camp Out, No Girls Allowed

This weekend, Ron and the boys went on their 1st ever overnight camping trip. Boys only, I wasn't invited! 2 other dads with boys went. Total 3 Dads and 5 boys. Apparently all went well, however I haven't gotten many details from them, yet. They were pretty tired today. These pictures came off of FB from one of the other Dads... There was a beach area for swimming. They only came back with one small scrape, so I was glad about that: I had this feeling there was going to be an injury!

Crashed out in the Tent

Ready to go fishing!

he figured it out!

Out of the blue tonight, Lincoln tells me that he has figured out who the Easter Bunny really is. He says that the EB is really Santa Clause dressed up in and Easter Bunny costume.

Young Pilots

Today we had our playgroup at a local small airport. The kid's made friends with some of the pilots, and were allowed to "ride" in their airplanes. It was a fun place to go... There is a cafe to eat at while you watch the planes take off and land. We'll be back.

HV Ballon's

Saturday night, we had our neighbors over for dinner then we all headed out to the local Balloon Festival. Ended up it was too windy for the balloons to go up, but we still had a fun time.
Here we all are in one of the hot air balloons... Me, Lexi, Lincoln, Jaden, Lincoln, and Angie.
The boys even got to pull the propane tank to light it up. There was live music, so we sat and listened while the kids played, danced, played, and played. We didn't get them home until 10pm, so we suffered a bit today, but all is good.

Good Names?

Jen to answer your question, the names Lincoln has picked out are Tree if it is a Girl, and Blinky if it is a Boy.

Also, Lawson wants a little brother and Lincoln want's a little sister. Mommy and Daddy will take either one!

This may explain why my Boys are so smart. Bring on the Morning Sickness.

Morning sickness linked to smarter babies

Thu, Apr 23, 2009 (HealthDay News) -- Children born to mothers who have morning sickness may be smarter than those whose moms don't have nausea and vomiting during pregnancy, suggests a new study.

Researchers found that the children of mothers with morning sickness scored higher on tests designed to assess children's IQ and mental acuity, the Canadian Press reported.

But while this difference was statistically significant, it doesn't mean that children born to mothers who didn't have nausea during pregnancy are developmentally slow, said senior author Dr. Gideon Koren, director of the Motherisk Program at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. It's just that the other children scored higher on the tests.

The study appears in the Journal of Pediatrics.

Nausea has long been recognized as a sign of a healthy pregnancy, according to the CP. Pregnant women who have morning sickness are less likely to have a miscarriage and less likely to have babies with congenital cardiovascular problems.

I've had this blog for 3 years now, why ruin a good thing?

ok ok ok now I have to keep my Blog. I'm going to want to document all this fun pregnancy and baby stuff.
Plus, I can do that cute pregnancy ticker thing over there to the left. Doesn't the baby look so funny/odd/but cute at this stage?
Lincoln used to check "aunt" Tiffany's blog every day to see how her baby was growing. So, as soon as I told him I was pregnant it wasn't long afterwards that he logged into my blog to see if that Fetus ticker thing was there. Soooo, tomorrow when he checks he will be happy to know he can now check on our new baby's growth.
Lincoln also reminded me: Now Mommy you can't drink coffee anymore while you are pregnant!! Thanks for reminding me!! I asked him how he knew that and he said "he just knew". I have a feeling he will be watching out for me to follow all the rules!!
And of course, Lawson is excited to be able to be a Big brother, and he says that Lincoln will be the Bigger Big brother.... They are already coming up with Baby names, and making all kinds of plans. I'ts going to be a loooong 8 more months for these little ones!
We are thinking we are due at the end of April, but will find out a more specific due date in a couple of weeks. My last 2 baby's were born in the Winter, so this is going to be new and exciting for me. So far, I don't feel "pregnancy" sick. But I am struggling with a cold/sinus thing, and to top that off the caffeine detox.

6th Floor Museum

While my mom was here, we did something very "touristy". We visited the 6th Floor Museum, where President JFK was shot from here in Dallas. Mom lived through all that so she enjoyed going through the museum. We got to wear headphones where we were given an auditory tour. Lincoln got to wear a "child's" version of the tour (in a language format where he could understand). He loved it, he is somewhat of a history buff at a young age. The museum even captured Lawson's attention. Glad to have gone, THANKS MOM. After the museum, we visited Target where Mom went a little overboard on spoiling the boys!!! Thanks Mom!!

Wow this museum stuff is hard work!!

The auditory tour:

Flower Mound Five?

For all of you in the Blogger World out there, we wanted to share our Good News. (if you haven't already heard... the news has spread like wildfire)
I guess we will be The Flower Mound Five come April time.
The boys will be getting a new brother or sister, and we will be getting another little bundle of joy. (Or maybe two???)

An Evening in Fort Worth

The Ringling Brother's had a Circus Party with Elephants and Clowns, in Fort Worth, so we headed on down there (Ron, myself, Grammy, and Boys...).
The boys enjoyed watching the elephants walk down the road and eat a giant salad.

Since we were in Fort Worth, we had to stop by and visits The Stockyards!

Hanging Out with Friends

There are other pictures floating around out there from this day, which I hope to get from Gina and Darla (this is a hint...)... But here is what I have!!
Gina (my old school BFF and matron of honor), came into town from S.A. to visit with her brother and of course us..... They spent the whole day with us on Wednesday. We took them over to the CAC and Darla and Emily met us there, too. So, here are all the kiddo's:
from Left to Right... Emma (gina's), Emily (darla's), Lincoln, Christopher (gina's), and Mad Lawson (his mood for the day).

Daddy's Kid's Workshop

The Home Depot Kid's workshops I mentioned in a previous post are nice and all... But our kid's get to do a Daddy Worshop once a week or so. Daddy's hobby is woodworking for those of you that don't already know that.... The boy's have their own mini workbench, tools, etc, and get to make and paint bunches of fun things with Daddy. This is the birdhouse that Lincoln and Daddy made last weekend, and it found it's own special place in our front yard makeover (which is still in progress!) I've overheard of plans to make more of these.

Just a Little Bit of Trouble

Lawson Sawyer
Our 3 yr old, is as cute as can be. But Wow, can he cause us some trouble. Not to go into details... It's all typical 3 yr old behavior!!! I did discover that cutting the sugar out of diet makes him a completely different child! It's hard, especially with all the summer treats available, but he's on board with it.
Lawson is our early riser, active, persistent, stubborn, driven child. He is physically strong, and a natural athlete at everything he tries. He tends to be on the "shy" side, but loves one on one attention. His favorite thing to do at home right now is build towers with blocks. You can find him building towers at all times throughout the day. He also loves to play on the computer, Leapster, read books, play board games, call family on the phone, practice his gymnastics on the living room floor, destroy his room, help mommy with chores. His favorite show to watch is Harold and the Purple Crayon, but generally doesn't have much interest in watching TV. Of course his mostest favoritest thing of all time is playing with his big brother!
Come Fall, Lawson will be starting pre-school two half days a week (9-1). He will also be on a T-ball team through the city, and will be in a soccer class. He will be in Awana Cubbies at a local church (this will be his 2nd yr).
I think this is going to be a great year for him!

Message Board

Just got to love Home Depot!! Once a month they do a kids workshop, and they make ton's of cool projects. Normally this is something Ron does with the boys, but this rainy Saturday, I took the honor of taking each boy up individually and hammered away at these cool message boards.

Linked

Thanks to a suggestion from my brother, and a quick tutorial video from TypePad, I somehow linked my Blog to Facebook. So apparantly every time I enter a post on my blog it will show up on my Facebook page. Willing to give it a try. And for those of you that read my blog and aren't on Facebook.... Get on Facebook!!! I dare you. My MOM is even on facebook!!!
