Compliment??

Is it a compliment that a 10 year old neighbor girl came up to me while I was outside and asked if my little brother Lincoln could come out to play??

We met Ryan, Maddie, and Baby sister, and Cara at the new Southlake Townsquare Central Market for lunch and play. What a great cafe they have there with outdoor seating and a playground for the kids. It was great!! Great idea Cara, and we will be back!!!

Sunglasses

Lincoln has always loved wearing his sunglasses, and now Lawson is starting to wear them.... And yes that is Lincoln giving Lawson a hug...

BMM

My Bad Mommy Moment: I took my boy's to lunch today to Nestle Tollhouse Cookie Factory. Yup, a big fat chocolate chip cookie for lunch, real nice mom!! (they were hungry, that's all that was around at the time!!)

A Little Weird??

One of Lincoln's new words is weird (and nasty, ugly, etc... not sure where he is picking up these adjectives...) , so here are a few weird things my boys have been doing: Lincoln sleeping on the shelf of his bed and Lawson thinks he is supposed to ride his pushing lawnmower backwards.

Saturday: Signed Lincoln up for swim lessons at Lifetime, hit 2 garage sales for some good ebay items to sell, went to a great bday party at KidzMuze, boys took good naps, then when the babysitter got here, Ron and I went out to dinner and to downtown Grapevine for dessert (best bread pudding we have ever had...)
Sunday: Ron made eggs for bfast, made it for a great church service at 9:30, headed out afterwords for sausage rolls and donuts, home for playtime, naptime, Grocery Game for me (saved $52.00!!), and now Ron will grill out some steaks I picked up, and we can play outside while he does this.... Academy Awards tonight? Probably not...

Boo Bah

Just One Year

Can you Be. Lieve. that we have lived here (next week), a YEAR already. Personally, I can not believe it. Where does the time go??? A year later, I think we finally are adjusted and no longer homesick. Lincoln hasn't been at the front door crying to "go home" in a long time now. After the whole ordeal of getting here, we now LOVE it here, LOVE Flower Mound and the Dallas area in general. And I hope we ALWAYS stay here (hint hint ron)!!!
We'll be in Houston area in May, and possible spa night in SA in March (???).... Because even though we love it here, we wish YOU GUYS were all here with us too.... We misssss you.....

Fry Day

Hello Everyone!!
Wow, we are through another week already... Looking forward to a nice weekend (but the weather is supposed to make a turn around with damaging winds and hail...).
Lincoln did great in Win Kids today, and today was the best that Lawson did while we were watching.... He is usually such a handful that I can barely watch Lincoln b/c I am busy chasing him around.... But, today was a big improvement.
Thanks Sue for the kiddy golf clubs: We spent about an hour when we got home in a golf slash hockey game: they both love the golf clubs.... Then we raked some leaves (with the toy rake), then took a walk around the block in the tricycle and ride on toy.... The weather is kind of the calm before the storm.....
Lincoln has been having dreams every night about "playing with Rudolf", he was even trying to make himself fall asleep today so he could "play with Rudolf...".
Lawson likes to feed himself now, yogurt, and even feeds himself his own baby food (but wow what a mess to clean up!!) He is really babbling a lot and trying to say words... He has been really into books lately, he has certain ones he digs out over and over, takes them to his Elmo couch and reads them. He LOVES any book that has babies in it, he loves to look at the other babies.... He has been napping in our room in the playpen: that helps out with one of them waking up the other one during naptime....

Mom's Night Out

Cara (Tori), Darla, Debbie and I had our Mom's night out last night. We met at Brio Restaurant in Southlake Townsquare for a great dinner. Thank's Ron for watching the boy's while we were out!!

I thought we would enjoy a quiet day at home today, but Lawson has already been at the front door several times this morning, fully equiped with the key's, his jacket and saying bye bye..... So, I guess we better get out. I'll take Lincoln out to his story time at the library, and then probably a park since it is supposed to be 78 and beautiful (I even considered the zoo, but that's a pretty big commitment...).

Tuesday, February 20

2sday

Hello,
What a BEE YOU TIFUL day today, 78 and sunny. Perfect. After story time at the library, we headed over to the duck pond for a couple of pre nap hours of play. I can thank these hours of play for Lincoln's 3.5 hour nap this afternoon (didn't take one yesterday...). Ron and Lincoln are out at Lifetime Gym, and I'm getting things done at home.....
Love You All!!

Aunt Giraffe (Jen)

We just found out that not only Lauren will be here for her Spring Break, but Aunt Jen will also be coming in town to visit for her Spring Break. Looking forward to it. (She thinks she is going to get some R and R here, lol, none here).... Maybe we will have a girls night out, better yet a visit to the vineyards, or a shopping trip, movie.....

Camera

Lincoln is not the only one who has gotten a new camera (btw I need to post some of his work soon). Ron got me a very nice new digital camera. If you saw my other one you would know why this is such good news. My old camera was purchased right when we got engaged, 5 yrs ago. And that camera was used pretty much daily for those 5 years, definitely got our money's worth. So, you should see some improvements in the quality of my pics.... And probably a lot more pics while I am practicing with my new toy!! Thanks, Ron, I didn't deserve that!!

Chicken

So, my dinner plans were ruined when I found out that the chicken I was going to use for our salad was recalled. We had a pack of that Louis Rich pre cooked chicken strips that has some harmful bacteria in it. Good thing we watched the news, we were about to eat that!!
PS: Bonus pics of Lawson today...

Monday Events...

After going to Bible Study at our church, going out for a free pizza, we came home and since it was 70 degree's and sunny we played outside for about an hour and a half, ended up walking down to the courtyard at the end of our street.... Lincoln rode his tricycle all the way down there.... Lawson was in the wagon, but as you can see did not want to stay in the wagon, he wanted to walk next to Lincoln... Anyway, it was so nice it got me looking forward to this outdoor weather...

Swing Swing

This is kind of cute, Lincoln learning to "pump", to be able to swing by himself. Today was the first time I saw him doing it really well and actually getting himself pretty high on his own....

Grandpa Lucek

Dad and Evelyn's Visit to DallasBreakfast this morning...River Walk Cafe

Last night at the Gaylord, Nice Family Pic

Dad and Evelyn came to Dallas this weekend from Chicago, Il. They came over for a Taco Soup lunch on Saturday, and some playtime with the boys.... Saturday evening we went down to the Gaylord Texan, where they were staying, to walk around... Then we headed out for dinner. We met up for breakfast Sunday am at a great buffet down there at the Gaylord. The boys had fun seeing them!!

Daddy's Valentine's from the boy's...

PS. Lincoln got his new camera in. It is a Kid Tuff Digital Camera, he can take 60 pics and download them to the computer. I'll be posting some of his work on the blog....

Weather Report

It was 13 degree's this morning when we headed out for gymnastics..... You New Yorkers are thinking that is nothing compared to what you have right now, 7 inches of snow, but we are in Texas!! The weather is going to warm up for the weekend.

Grandpa Lucek will be here this weekend. They are actually here in town now, but they are doing the tourist thing today and tonight. They will come over for a couple of hours tomorrow, for lunch and visit....

Boy's are doing great, finally got them down for a nap after a 1.5 hour attempt. Fun...

Per your request, Reaah

The Horns....

I love the look he is giving me, I like the horns, but no I am not going to smile.

Tell Dad to read the blog to see the pic.

Thursday, February 15

Papa

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO PAPA PAUL!!!!
PS. Lincoln got the package in the mail from you today, he thought that was pretty cool. Ron will hang those horns in his room.

Proud Mommy

My Valentine Lincoln made me at Moppets. He made Daddy's today at Bible School, stay tuned for the pic later....
BTW, it is 3:40 and my 2:00 carpet guy just called asking for directions. From somewhere I had no idea where he is at... And he didnt' have a map.... So, wonder if he will make it here from the directions I TRIED to give him...... Wonder if he know's about Mapquest....

Happy Valentine's Day

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TO OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY!!
It is 27 degree's here right now, with some snow flurries... gotta love it...
The carpet guy was supposed to be here an hour ago to clean the carpet, where is he???

Ron and I had our Valentine's Date on Sunday night. We got a babysitter, Ms. Francie, from our church, and Ron and I went to PF Changs. I had never been there, and have really been wanting to go. It was delicious and worth the hour wait (at 6pm on a Sunday....).

I can't talk yet about what happened to me last night. But it involves my wedding ring, and a lost diamond. Don't worry there is a happy ending to this story.....

I was able to be a teacher's aide today in Lincoln's Bible Study class today. I enjoyed that. Then we met Maddie, Ryan, and Tori for a lunch at MCD's. Haven't seen them in a while, the kiddo's had fun....

So, found out today that Lincoln "got in" to the academy I was trying to get him in for preschool next year. Yes, that's right, registration begins 9 months early for preschool next year. It's very competitive around here for preschool, waiting lines, etc..... Anyway, we didn't get our first choice class, but I'm making a comprimise in the times because I feel that this is going to be a great place for him. He will only be going on Tuesday's and Thursday's from 12:30-3:30. Which is the middle of naptime, but we will adjust!! The school is called DKH Academy, and is located in Highland Village. It is very academic, and the 3 hours he is there will be pretty jammed packed with lot's and lot's of learning.....

Tuesday, February 13

SSSNNNNOOOOWWWW

It's supposed to snow, again, tomorrow.

An Old Friend

Ron had a pleasant surprise yesterday when an old friend called to say he was in town. This gentlemen was Ron's first employer back in King Ferry, NY. He had a poultry farm, and Ron worked on the farm at age 14. So, Mr. Don Robin and his wife came over for dinner tonight. We had a yummy lasagna dinner, and Ron and Don were able to catch up on the last 15 years!!

Fondue

Today in MOPS we brought our fondue pots and made chocolate covered strawberries for our husbands for Valentine's Day.
There was extra chocolate in my pot, so someone told me to just bring it home and melt it later on with the kids..... Thought this was a great idea. Needless to say, it was NOT a great idea. Somehow there was a mishap with the oil for the pot and the alcohol burner, something must have leaked: to make a long story short, I set our kitchen table on fire.
I'm going to go buy a table cloth tomorrow.
Sue, remember giving me that fondue pot around 10 yrs ago???

Since you went to the park yesterday, I'm going to guess that it is a jungle gym or slide from the park with him on it.He's a great artist!!

It's clearly a diving board pointing in the opposite direction of the pool. Probably symbolic in nature and illustrates the deeper side of this complicated prodigy. He's sketched his first masterpiece, please do not shake!!

I think it is a fire truck with its ladder extended out. Since he was building puzzles the other day, maybe he is recreating his fire truck puzzle!

I think its a bottle of soda pop that his dad lets him drink in secret. Then again it could be a tree with a swing hanging from it.

OK, and the winner is..........
No one!!
Sorry, I couldn't come up with a "closest answer"
Wow, what great and creative answers.
However, it was much more simple,
Lincoln said this was "a Man"...
Now come on, can't you see his round head and his arm sticking out?????
We will try this again, real soon

grrrrrrreat day

GRRRReat Day, how bout you??? Ron took the boy's out for a couple of hrs this am to the park at Grapevine Lake and then lunch... Soooo, I was able to devote a couple of hours to some housework. It is amazing how much housework you can get done without kids, when you are used to doing it with kids.... I'm telling you, I am a fast cleaner and I did a lot... When the boy's are here, I take one step forward and 2 steps back. I am cleaning one thing, and they are messing up 2 things, anyway.... I love a clean house!!
THEN, they came home and both took long naps, and woke up just in time to go to Saturday night church service. After a great service, we decided to brave it and take the boys out to dinner. To our surprise, they behaved perfectly well, and we all enjoyed a nice dinner at The Village Grill. I like days like this.

And tomorrow, we will have a date night, and we have Miss Francie coming over to babysit. This will be our Valentine's Date....

Gum

Does anyone remember the first time they chewed a piece of gum. I don't. Tonight, Lincoln had his first ever piece of gum. Pretty Exciting, he has been asking for a whole year to try gum and I just have not allowed it. Well, he has been chewing the same piece for 2 hrs now, and he thinks that it. is. so. very. cool.

What Is This??

Here is another edition of What Is This? (According to Lincoln)
(Please post your guess in the comment section)

Daily

Yup, we have been busy. A good busy. It was 72 yesterday, so we enjoyed some park time after bible study. But today is 30 degree's cooler, typical texas weather. It's no wonder we are always sick. Speaking of... There is a major flu outbreak here, there are actually a bunch of schools shutting down due to the flu. Glad we have all gotten our shot, and hopefully we will be protected.
We met Darla and Emily at KidzMuze today. 3 hours of jammed packed fun for the kiddo's, and time for Darla and I to catch up: we haven't seen each other in a long while.... Anyway, I love that place for the boys.
I'm going to try something new tomorrow: since Lincolns gymnastics isn't until 10:30, I'm going to try to get to the gym prior to gymnastics.... I think I'll have just enough time to get us all ready and fed, get a workout and shower, and be at Win Kids by 10:30: I'll let you know.
Anyone watch LOST last night??? I like the new time, 9:00.
Lincoln is doing puzzle's, but I'm going to go put him down for night night. Me too...
NIGHT NIGHT

Foamy Bath

Do all little boy's like to play with that bathtub foam, that makes the water so murky?? Mine do.
Lincoln was SOOO incredibly nice to his brother today. I don't know what happened, but I loved it. Hope it is not a phase. All day he was helping Lawson, trying to make him laugh, reading to him, holding his hand, guiding him over to me if he was crying, saying here is mommy. It was so cute!!

We had a playdate this morning at a friend's house. Ben (Debbie T.) and the boy's played over there in the backyard and we had lunch...

Po Ke No

Po Ke No was fun. I'm going to buy it and we are going to play it on the family trip!! It's sort of a bingo type of game.
However, I lost, and came home empty handed....

Handling

OK here is something for you to beware of. I was online ordering something for the boys because it was advertized as "free shipping". However, after I wasted all my time placing the order, at the end I was charged for "handling". So, free shipping but charged for handling. Go Figure... Very Misleading I Thought....

Weather

It will be near 70 and sunny for the next couple of days. Sorry about that, all you in the cold. Especially Dad in the Chicago weather, made news all the way here.

Grandma Joan came here all the way from NY, and it snowed the whole time she was here. Now that she has left it's in the 70's, go figure.

Pokeeno

Anyone ever played Pokeeno? I was invited over to a girl from my church's home for a Pokeeno Party. Don't know what it is, but I know I have to bring a 5.00 gift and 5.00 cash for the pot.... When I looked it up on line, it looks like this may be the new Bunko boom...

Also, anyone have any book reccomendations? I'm looking for some good read's...

Update

1. Submissions to Regis and Kelly's baby contest is over, too bad.
2. Yes, Grandma Joan cut Lincoln's hair while he was here.
3. Ron just got back from the dr and he has bronchitis and upper respiratory infection. Got Z pac, etc.... Get well soon.
4. Yes, we all miss the Fam.

Ebay Jeans

OK Ladies, this is why I like ebay. I bought some jeans on ebay a couple of weeks ago and of course they just didn't fit right. I bought them for $9.99, well I just put them right on ebay for sale, the auction ended tonight and after 18 people bid against each other on them, they sold for 44.50!!! I love that!!

Reward

Love my new Coach purse, reward to myself from ebay sales.
It's big enough to be able to get rid of my diaper bag and transition to the big purse stage.
This is really exciting for me!!

Outside Play Today

Doesn't every one year old boy love to play in the Little Tikes Car??

Lincoln and Lawson both love the ride ons these days, Lincoln has outgrown this one, but still likes to take it away from Lawson....

Juice Box???

Our "outdoor" kitty, Justice

WOW, What a beautiful day today. After lunch, we were able to play out back for an hour before nap time. And after nap time, I think we will go for a walk. It's nice to be back outside again...

A Mom After God's Own Heart

I started a new bible study today, a study by Elizabeth George. I'm really going to like this one!! It meets on the off Monday's of MOPS, so it makes it easy: we are at VCC every Monday, either for mops or Bible Study. Great Study, I'm so excited!!

DAD Lucek

Dad, I was so mixed up on dates, but realized quite quickly I had my weekends mixed up. See you not this weekend, but NEXT weekend!!
And, even though it snowed everyday last week, we have been playing outside all afternoon in our Tshirts, it's warm: typical Texas weather: cold one day and warm the next...

SA Trip

Our whole fam packed up and headed out to SA this weekend. We went to Ron's Regional Managers' surprise bday party out in Lake McQueeny. Aunt Jen and Uncle Mark babysat the kiddo's, the boy's loved that. Short trip, but all was well. It is very hard to travel nowadays. Lawson won't sleep in the carseat and so he get's fussy, then we are all miserable. Anyway, hoping the traveling gets easier. Want to go back for a longer stay.

THANKS AUNT JEN AND UNCLE MARK for the babysitting, your hospitality and the breakfast this am. Please send me some pics so I can post them...

Safe Traveling

Snapped a shot as they were on the way out the door. On the way to Floriday. Enjoyed your stay, Love you..

Snow, Babies, Bye Bye

1. Cuddling up in front of the TV instead of playing out in the snow....
2. Flower Mound looks absolutely beautiful covered in snow, it looked like a little Colorado town this morning. We got out to Lincoln's gymnastics class, and it was fun seeing all the snow everywhere.
3. Safe traveling to our family who left today, heading towards Florida. We will see you in April.

Thursday, February 1

Boo Hoo

All our out of town guest will be leaving in the AM, as long as it isn't snowing.

Our next guest include Grandpa Lucek from Chicago next weekend, and cousin La La for Spring Break in March.

Dallas Snow

Well it snowed all morning yesterday, and now it has been snowing all afternoon today. Wow, it snows a lot more here in Dallas than in Houston or SA. It's snowed at least 5 days here already, and it's just pretty normal around here: no one freaks out.....
