Play Doh Time!!

Rocking in the Lazy Boy

Tomorrow is going to be Nanny, Grandpa Dave's, and Grandma Joan's last day here.
We will be so lonely....

Tuesday, January 30

KidzMuze

We took the boy's to KidzMuze today (www.kidzmuze.com) It is a indoor playground slash kids museum slash a break for mommy. They had ton's of different "rooms" that they could play in, for example a kitchen area where they can "cook", or a veterinary office where they can take care of the animals (Lincoln above), they had a huge toddler area for Lawson and a huge play climb area for Lincoln, story and song time. They had huge loung chairs for the moms, complete with magazine's and coffee. We'll be back!! And it is just down the road less than 5 miles...

Thanks

A BIG Thanks goes out to Nanny, Grandpa Dave and Grandma Joan for taking care of our precious cargo while we were on our getaway.... We REALLY appreciate that!!! Now you are prepared for our week long ski trip next year, ha ha.....

Lasagna

Not to make you jealous or anything, but Grandma Joan made us homemade lasagna for tonight. She is Italian, and is a superb cook. This lasagna had HOMEMADE from scratch tomatoe sauce, and was just fantastic. Thanks Grandma Joan!!!

Also, we have utilized her cosmo skills, and she has colored my hair and trimmed Lincoln's hair. Thanks!! No updo's this year, due to having to chase the little one's in the morning!! But coffee every morning, yes....

3. What is your lucky number?
M

4. How do we use numbers?
We use them in the bath tub. (he has sponge bath numbers)

5. Why are numbers important?
We turn them around and put water on them.

6. What is the number of questions we ask each week?
2 questions. (then he counts from 1 to 14)

Getaway

Ron and I had a 24hr getaway this weekend. Nanny, Grandpa Dave, and Grandma Joan watched the boy's while we got away.
We went to a Bed and Breakfast outside of Fort Worth, it was a ranch, and really out in the middle of nowhere. We ate a fantastic dinner at Pappadeaux (thanks Vivianne), and watched a few movies in our room, slept in, had a great breakfast there. It was just what we needed!!!

Men's Retreat

Ron enjoyed his men's retreat this Friday and Saturday at our church. I'm glad that he had the opportunity to go, he heard some great speakers, and met a lot of new men.... And he said the food was good!! I'm planning to go on the women's retreat in March at The Westin at the Galleria...

Stats

Wellcheck's today
Lincoln:
34 lbs
3'2"
Lawson:
24 lbs
31 inches
Both Healthy!!!

Dish Washer

It's the small things in life that make us all happy. Ron bought me a new dishwasher last night. He said he had to go to the store to buy some chalk, and he came home with a beautiful new dw. Those of you that have had the experience to use our old one know why this is so exciting to me!!!

On another note, both boy's have well checks today. Lawson's one yr physical and Lincolns 3 yr physical, both will be getting shots....

Wednesday, January 24

OK, Lincoln slept for 3 1/2 hrs for nap yesterday and today. I guess we still do get naptime!!!I think he was just so excited about Grandma being here, is why he skipped his nap for so many days...

Also, last night, he went to Nanny's place to spend the night for the 2nd time. At 11:15pm, they brought him home bc he was homesick!!!

Monday, January 22

Just another Manic Monday

MOPS today. Loved it. Boy's did great in Moppets, while I sipped coffee, ate brunch, worked on crafts, laughed, etc.... I need my MOPS....

MOPS is every other Monday, and today I found out that there is going to be a 10 week bible study starting in 2 weeks that meets every other Monday am opposite of MOPS. So now we will be up at the church every monday for either MOPS or the bible study. Great way to start off the week!! I am so excited about this bs too, because it is a study by Elizabeth George, whom I love!! I took one of her studies in Houston, and got so much out of it. Topic is Mom After God's Own Heart.

Nanny and Grandpa Dave got back in town tonight after being gone for 2 weeks. They have one week left with us.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDPA DAVE!!!!! (Today!!)

Lawson News:
1. Climbing on and in things. Any opportunity he see's, he loves to climb. He pushed a stool to the bathtub and climbed right into the tub head first. He also pushed his Elmo couch up to the lazy boy chair and crawled right up into it. Beware!!

2. Now is starting to really enjoy reading books.... Great!!

3. Takes off his own diaper whenever possible.

4. Fave's: Phones (#1), Remote's (#2), any kind of car, balls, piggy bank, tool set, listening to music, swing, fridge toys, bathtime.

Lincoln News:
1. Are we giving up naptime?? I sure hope not, but it seems like maybe he doesn't need his nap anymore. If he naps, it is a forced 1-2 hr process with him getting to sleep. Then on nap days, he doesn't get to sleep at night until 10:30 pm!! Well, on days when he doesn't take a nap (like yest and today), he goes to sleep pretty voluntarily at 8pm..... HMMMM which is better....
1. Nap and 10:30 bedtime
2. No nap, but 8:00 bedtime

BTW: Lawson goes to bed at 6:30 or 7:00 without a PEEP. We have had some late dinners this week after he goes down, and I'd have to say I could really enjoy (and finish) my meal.... So, 7:00 dinners after he goes down may be in our future!!

WHY

Why oh Why is my Blog messed up?? See, if I need a fellow blogger friend to talk to....Someone I actually know....

Doctor in Training???

I'd have to say, quite possibly.

Finger?? Painting

Poor Grandma Joan had to witness an out of control finger painting session here at the Flower Mound Four Home.

MC D'S

So, who would of thought I could enjoy a 2 1/2 visit to McDonald's on a Friday night? Well, Lincoln and I had to get out tonight, and I wanted to get him some exercise, so I took him up to the play place, where he ran around just as planned with a little girl he met there. Meanwhile, I read half of a GREAT book. It was soooo nice. Nice, easy, independent age!! The 2 kiddo's were the only ones in there, and he literally ran around for the 2.5 hours with no breaks.... He could barely walk by the time we left.....
BTW: Great Book: The Memory Keeper's Daughter, a true page turner, I can't put it down...

BONUS:
Ron set me up with a new computer right here in kitchen at my little desk nook, it is perfect!! I'll be able to do a lot more, and I think I'd like Lincoln to be doing his things right here so I can supervise him a bit more.... He really starts browsing the internet, and you never know what you can run into..... This computer should help to keep up with ebay more, I can be doing little things while I am in the kitchen cooking, etc....
Thanks RON!!

On Friday, we took Grandma to us to Lincoln's gymnastics, then headed over to Grapevine Mills mall where we ate, rode merry go round, shopped. We met Ron out for dinner at Bari's, a local fave of ours. All was well at first, but things got bad quickly and I had to quickly take off with the boys. We just have to take a break from eating out for awhile, Lawson does not do well, then Lincoln starts feeding in to get attention, yuck.... Rather stay home and pick up sushi or order a pizza, for now.... Ron started coming down with his sickness last night anyways....

REAAH: Thanks for the baby scrubs, TOO CUTE:::: Pics to follow, and Lincoln loves waking up from his nap to open the letter from you....

NIGHTY NITE

Mommy

I Love Love Love Being a Mommy!!

Another Flu??

Yup, Ron got the flu from Lawson. Nope, he didn't get his flu shot. I did, so hopefully Lincoln and I won't catch it...

Flower Mound Snow

The pic I promised. The only pic I could take before my battery ran dead... Ron and Lincoln got to run around in the snow, throw snowballs, even walked to the duck pond where all the kids were sliding down the hill..... Fun Fun Fun.... However, I HAVE to get out tomorrow... Between being cooped up with Lawson's flu and the snow, I am literally bouncing off the walls. I think we will take Grandma with us for a visit to the library for story time and check out some books. I think Lawson will be ready to leave for a bit......

Snow. Day.

WOW we woke up to a surprise blanket of SNOW!! Ron is snowed in, doing some work from home. Grandma Joan arrived safely last night, so we are all enjoying a nice snowy morning.... Ron and Lincoln will go out in a little bit to play in the snow... Hopefully, pics will follow soon...

Lawson update: He seems to be doing a LOT better. Hasn't vomitted in 2 days. Still not himself, but we are definitely past the worst stages of this nasty flu..... Reaah, yes he had an unpleasant nose swab...

Not Fair

Why oh why do the ONLY two shows I watch, now fall on the same exact night at the same exact time..... Now this is bad luck.... Then the rest of the week I don't have anything to watch.
Now on Sunday's, Apprentice and DH both come on at 8:00!! And I don't have tivo or dvr or a working VCR..... So, Ron and I watch Apprentice together, and I can watch DH on abc.com some other time during the week. Sometime in February, my 3rd watched show will start up again, LOST.
But in the meantime, I may have to give in to getting the DVR. Then you don't have to watch all the commercials we complained about the whole time last night while we watched apprentice. I guess that's how Trump makes all his money... It literally was about 50% show and 50% commercials......

Weather Report

Cold. Ice. Freezing. 21degree's.....

Lawson has the worst flu I've ever seen. Vomit, Diarreah, cant keep any thing down including medicine. Changed sheets 7 times yesterday and 7 times today due to the vomitting. Needless to say, the wash has been constantly running..... We go back to the dr in the am. Until then, we are supposed to push the Pediatlite which he doesn't take. Can't have milk b/c it all comes up.... Poor thing....He (we) is miserable!!

On a happier note, we are anticipating the arrival of Grandma Joan who comes in tomorrow and will stay with us for a few weeks.

Hope you guys don't catch the flu!!

Lawson's Flu

Lawson still down with the flu. Managed to get this big smile out of him today!! Just put him in the rocking chair, and he loves to rock back and forth and laugh... We are seeing some light at the end of the tunnel.
Jen, very funny. Hot chocolate, warm fire, movies, and crafts?? Not today.... How about crying, diarreah, vomitting, medication refusal, headaches (all), and no sleep...
Ron and Lincoln were able to escape to have lunch at Chili's then head to a movie, Happy Feet. Ron also escaped tonight to get to the gym. I plan on making my escape tomorrow, however, seems like everything is closing down.... I've been cooped up at home for 4 days...
On a better note, Ron made us a nice dinner tonight, Sesame Chicken....

Thursday

Plagyroup went well. We Like.
But Lawson is sick. Again.
Dr appointment at 9am. Poor Baby is Miserable. Never been this bad.
Managed to take cute Valentine's Pics at Picture People, great special going on.
Arctic Blast on the Way!!
Hard day today for me.

Typical PlayDay

Here are pics from today's typical play time:

Band Aid on neck from a Tricycle accident. He didn't want to take it off tonight not only b/c it would hurt, but also b/c he enjoyed all day everyone asking him what happened....

Lawson enjoys lounging on his new Elmo couch reading books, or putting the money in the piggy bank. Once he figured out how to put them in, he can't get enough of it: doing it over and over....

___________________________________________________________________

Today we went to our Community Bible Study, it was a great study. Boys did great.

Went to lunch afterwards with Darla and her sister at Celebrity. Boy's not cooperating so well, packed up food to go... Lincoln ran away from me and hit under a cabinet there. When I tried to pull him out he yelled "you're not my mommy". My fault, he walked in on me watching DH, and it just happened to be the scene in which Lydia was trying to get her step daughter out of the restaurant and she yelled you are not my mommy ( I saw Lincoln really absorbing what he saw.... ) .... Just show's how much you have to keep your kids away from adult TV. It could have been something a lot worse he repeated....

Since we have moved here we just can NOT find a playgroup, we have tried about 6 or more, and nothing seems to be working out. Well, one of my NY Resolutions is to find a playgroup for both boys (hopefully the same one). We are trying one out tomorrow. Really hoping this is the one for us!! Of course, I'll let you know...

Arctic Blast Coming This Way!!

Our Little photographer

This weekend, Lincoln took my cell phone, put in in camera mode, went over to Bristol and took this picture, perfectly centered and saved the picture. Wow, maybe photography is his niche. He takes Aunt Jen's digital camera and takes good pictures.
Needless to say, I am getting him that Fisher Price Digital camera, but it's still sold out. This camera let's them take up to 60 pictures, and then download them to the computer. How fun!! Our little photographer!!
By the way, the only reason the pic is fuzzy is because it was taken by my cell phone....

WOW Lincoln

Last night, Lincoln was able to have his 1st overnighter. He packed his own suitcase with what he thought he needed, and he went to spend the night at Nanny and Grandpa Dave's. Apparantly he did great!!

Today, Lincoln went with his Daddy to the Cotton Bowl here in Dallas. It was a bit cold, but they enjoyed themselves!! Pictures Ron??

Last night for NYE, we cooked up a feast here including steaks and seafood.... Ron and I rented a movie, Breakup with Jennifer Anisten after Lincoln left, and we actually made it up until after midnight (barely) , and I just woke up from a nap for recovery...

We are getting for FEAST number 2 here in just a bit, then head out for dessert...
